Saddest looking chicken feet. You can barely eat it cz its tough. We ordered fried rice , siomai. Those were good. The shrimp balls were not. We order a lot of chinese food and i think the portions were very little.

Got shrimp shumai, pork vegetable dumplings, egg rolls & fried rice (generous portion). Priced right.

Was really hoping this place would be good. I don’t understand why Dim Sum in Reno doesn’t work. There’s places in SF with buns twice as big for half the price. If they can make it work, why can’t we? We picked up $30 of various buns, dumplings, etc and were still hungry (two of us). The bao were almost empty. The custard buns were grainy. All in all just super mid. Nothing was like terrible, it was all edible, but it was overpriced and under portioned. In SF, $20 of dimsum is enough for 4 people.

Wow, that was disappointing. Just couldn’t get across “water with no ice.” And the buns are indeed microwaved – tough from the moment they hit the table. What a waste. Wait-service was friendly, but without strong enough English to deal with any special requests. Never again.
Addendum: my friend says she went there two years ago, and it was great! The woman who ran “the spot“ inside the Chinese restaurant was talking about moving somewhere else closer to town. So, probably she did, and now the reduced dim sum menu is just done freezer to microwave by the restaurant. If anybody knows where she went, please say. Maybe she opened the Dim Sum and Boba Hut on Moana, which is really great and made fresh?

Dumplings are frozen at best. I walked in and the lady asked what I was picking up. I told her and she said I was at the wrong place. I told her the address and she said that I was at the right address. I said I was picking up dumplings from “The Spot” and she just stared at me like I was an idiot. I then showed her my receipt and finally she said oh yeah we might have your order. The experience was awful and the food was worse. I should have just handed that $50 bill to the nearest dumpster because I just got ripped off. I honestly can’t think of a time I’ve had a worse meal

From the moment we walked in we felt welcome! We also had many questions about the food (one of our party was pregnant), the server was well informed and very accommodating. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and lastly I tasted new food items! The Tofu Egg Rolls in particular were a first! 🙂 My family added this to our MUST RETURN list!

Worst Dim Sum I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot! No flavor, high priced. Very disappointed. The sushi isn’t any better. Way to much rice. Just no flavor. Not going to try the Chinese food. Don’t know how they stay open. Won’t be going back.

The building is in a shopping mall, but its obviously been here a while. Its also connected to a sushi place, which is awesome because dimsum and sushi go together like shoes and laces! I digress. The appearance of the place is less impressive than the food its self, as the food was a well rounded gathering of flavors mixed with service from the owner of The Spot, herself and it just turned out to be an excellent experience. Over all, 5/5 stars. The only thing it was maybe lacking in was its old school design of the entire resturant area its self.

Oh don’t even try it. Never been more dissatisfied with a meal before. Tastes like everything was frozen and thawed. I was so looking forward to dim sum and was so sorry I went here.
