Hunan Chinese Restaurant is a family owned and operated small Restaurant, and we have been in business for 15 years. We bought this Hunan business on North side by Peter Piper Pizza on 9/15/2005, after 10 years of leasing on 8/31/2015, we had to let it go because of increasing high rent. Luckily, we found this little location and continue our business today. We have been at this new location @ 1000 West Hobbs St. (Hobbs & Union intersection) since December 31st, 2015. We try every day to provide good food and good customer service. Communicate and give us feedback, it is very important to us. Thank you all for your continued support, we’ve been blessed to serve good food to you and learn every day to improve our customer satisfaction.

Visiting from out of town and decided to give this place a try…
I’ll start with the positives… the owner and employees were very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant was clean and the bathroom was clean too. It’s in a older building that used to be another franchise so you can tell it has some age and wear, but it’s still taken care of and not run down.
Portions were generous… we ordered the Hunan Special Dinner for 4 and took it to go. Everything was cooked fresh and packaged well, unfortunately that means no plated food photos for Yelp because we were hungry and just dug in…
My only complaint was the flavor. For me it was a bit bland. I like a little more spice and punch, but that’s personal taste not really a quality issue.
So I’m landing at 3 stars… just because it wasnt my personal flavor profile doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. The owner clearly takes pride in the place and she’s been around almost 20 years, plenty of locals seem to love her food.

I came here to try out the orange chicken, but noticed they had Singapore mei fun, but under a different name. Singapore glass noodles. I got the combination with beef chicken and shrimp. Plate came out steaming hot, all the proteins were delicious and the noodles were coated in a curry sauce as they should be. I ate the whole plate would definitely recommend.

It’s a very unassuming place but the owner is cheerful, the menu varied and the food excellent. We ordered Egg Flower soup (egg drop), Egg rolls and Chicken Egg Foo Young. The presentation for the Egg Foo Young was different than what we’re used to – one big pancake with the additions on top rather than individual, smaller pancakes. It was unique and delicious. The prices are fair, the service good and the start you off with complimentary won strips.

My favorite place to eat in Roswell especially for a good Chinese meal. I always have a good meal no matter what I get never been disappointed. I do recommend the orange chicken or cashew chicken. The soups are great too. And the ribs are a special treat worth the price. The prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent. I like you can dine in or do takeout and go through the drive through.

Hunan is the best Chinese Restaurant within 100 miles of Roswell. Don’t let the old dated restaurant look deceive you, the food and service are incredible. Kathy is so kind and joyful. She always serves with a big smile, her kindness is so welcoming, warm and contagious.
The food is always fresh and it doesn’t take forever to cook which is great. The Beef Broccoli, Chicken Foils, Orange Chicken, Egg Rolls, Cream Cheese Puffs and Chow Mein are phenomenal. These dishes are perfected, so full of flavor and they taste home cooked.
The “Beef on a Stick” is an especially enjoyable dish and experience, as they bring it out in a mini fire grill and you can sizzle cook it and eat it in front of you. It’s a really fun appetizer to enjoy with family and friends.
They charge very fairly for their dishes. Most dishes are less than $10 and they have large portion sizes, you definitely get what you pay for, if not more. They also have beautiful art on the walls.

I only comment on places with good food. Can’t beat very large portions of tasty food prepared fast! It was a very quaint, clean little diner with a Chinese twist. Wait staff were super friendly, patient, and explained what each dish was. I got a “to go” order, so photos don’t do it justice. They lined the container with foil & tightly wrapped each to-go box with plastic wrap, so food stayed hot, no leaks, no containers busted open in transit, & it reinforce the to-go box so none broke. Good thing, too, because the boxes were stuffed FULL! I ordered Hunan Chicken dinner, Mixed Vegetable dinner, and Chicken with Black Bean Sauce dinner. Each came with chow mein, rice, and cream cheese puffs. Highly recommend it if you are craving Chinese food!

AMAZING, FRESH food.. My husband and I love this place.. they have a large variety of dishes and really great soup. The food was hot and fresh,, everything was prepared well and large portions. Very decent prices.. only reason for 4 stars is An older building and simple tables kinda outdated, totally worth it. We will definitely eat here often.

Hunan is run by the looks of a Very nice restaurant owner Kathy and her husband I believe. My Girl and I have gone there everytime we’ve stopped in Roswell. I believe there are two other Chinese restaurants in the city but nothing compares to this one food wise. Kathy was very sweet and nice to us. You could tell that she has poured her soul into this restaurant. The food is very affordable. In my opinion I mean I can get full with one plate there at half the cost then I could say eating at Buffalo Wild Wings lol.
The outside of the restaurant doesn’t really look like it has traction and I’ve noticed because a lot of people order at their drive-through. The inside is nice and cozy, as well as quiet with the sound of the grill always at work. A very peaceful environment to eat in.
The food, however on the greater side is probably the best Chinese food I’ve had in a very long time. for me personally it brought back a very nostalgic, feeling that not a lot of things in life can pull off. From the beef broccoli to the chow mein it all tastes perfect.
When it comes to appetizers, I highly recommend you try the beef on a stick. They bring it out on a cool mini grill that’s on fire. “ not recommended for your children to use lol”
The restaurant definitely is a five star go to family place for this state. You won’t be disappointed.
Check out the good food.
