Upon entering this Fuego location, my family and I were greeted immediately with a smiling face, and we were promptly seated. We had the best waitress in the world- Kylie! She immediately attended to our menu requests, was quick to refill our drinks, and supply extra napkins as needed. She has a very bubbly and energetic personality, and we could tell she enjoys working here, even though the restaurant seemed short- staffed and she seemed to be the only waitress for all the tables. She handled this all so well! We received excellent service! The food was good, the environment was colorful and laid back, and I must add that the women’s restroom was so cute and clean! We would definitely visit again, and recommend others to eat at this Fuego, too!

Perhaps the worst Mexican food I have had. I got the $18 Skirt steak with enchilada and quesadilla to go. The skirt steak had no seasoning or sauce, and the enchilada and quesadilla were sad dry and tiny. I will eat almost anything but this I fed to my dog. So sad because I love Mexican food. Well back to El Fenix. Why oh why can’t Granbury attract any decent non-chain food?

Came for menudo. It had no hominy or pig feet and was under cooked. Had a decent flavor though. I would rate it 3.5. However the Michelda’s were decent. I would rate 4. He had Pozole and rated it a 4. We had to small bowls and bill was still high due to Michelda’s. Pricing I give it a 3 for the food standard.

Hands down, THE best service we’ve had in SOOO long!! Our server (Caleb) was attentive, fun, easy going & prompt! In addition, the food was DELICIOUS!! We’re pretty tough critics when it comes to Mexican food, so take our word when we say this place is a MUST TRY!!

Granted, we are Georgians/Hispanics and are still trying to wrap our minds around Texan Mexican food. But even with that in mind, it’s not great. The chips are definitely store brand, from a bag. Not made in house. Which isn’t the worst thing, I guess.
My son ordered a simple beef taco, which came battered and deep fried. I had an empanada, which was the strangest one I’ve ever had. It consisted of thick, deep fried bread stuffed with flavorless beef. The rice was crunchy, with peas and corn and was akin to chewing on legos. And for what we got, it was wildly overpriced.

The server and bar tender were so nice, so it really pains me to rain on their establishment. But it simply isn’t good food and certainly not at that price. I’m so sorry!

I’ve also never heard of a restaurant charging credit card fees.

Update on some of the best Mexican food ! The new dishes that have been introduced are amazing, really! Not only are they delicious with fresh ingredients but they are so artfully presented. It is not only the food that makes Fuego a winner, it is the owner and staff who treat each and every customer like they are a visitor in their home. In today’s world it is unusual to have such warm, caring and personalized service. I do not know how they remember but they seem to know each customer by name and the owner is so hands on, from kitchen staff to wait staff, they all appear to be having so much fun! Just love it! Go for the food, then relax and soak in the friendly, homey atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food and service, only had appetizers but they were great and the mango margaritas were made fresh and simply awesome. The chef is newly arrived from Chicago and creating new dishes for the menu…..check it out!

Update: Cornhole tournaments on Monday night, karaoke on Wednesday, some great talent!

Open mic night here on Saturday! Great music and musicians, definitely needed to come, best entertainment in Granbury, kudos to Cliff Williams, Ron Schaffer and Boodreaux Guitarez…..you guys are awesome!

The food was good but not great.
The hot sauce is on the hot side. Chips were a little hard and bland. The chicken enchiladas where very tasty. The hard tacos and tostadas, were more on the 3 star side due to the hard and bland shells.
Very small portions of rice and beans with entree, literally like three bites of each.
The server was super sweet.

The pozole and green chili tacos were super tasty. We also enjoyed delicious drinks. Not sure why this is not higher reviews, so glad to leave the proper level review and bring the score up lol. Definitely worth coming in!

So I have Read many reviews that this restaurant is kind of 50/50.
My girlfriend is a top food critic and DFW. So she has taken me to many restaurants to where I have tasted the good and the bad numerous times…
My 1st judgment on Mexican restaurants is the chips in salsa. If the sauce was bad than the whole meal is probably going to go south.

But the salsa was very good it Was good texture and definitely had a small kick.

Moving on I got here and had been told today June 14th. They were serving a appetizer of CEVICHE.
The only other time i’ve had this was actually in mexico. This was the closest that i’ve ever found to being what I remember in mexico two years ago. I had to definitely save some to bring back home for my girlfriend so she could have it again and remember that time in mexico.

My buddy was with me and he had the grilled Chicken con queso He said it was fantastic

I had the combo fajitas and The steak could have been cooked a little less but over all taste was very good.

Congrats to the new owners
