A Hidden Gem with Big Heart!
If you are looking for an authentic New York pizza experience, La Traviata Pizzeria is a must-visit. Don’t let the size of the shop fool you—it might be a small local spot, but the service and flavor are absolutely massive.
Here is why this place stands out:
The Food: The pizza is incredible. Fresh ingredients, perfect crust, and exactly what you want from a NY slice.
The Service: Lightning fast! Even when they are busy, you aren’t waiting long for a hot, delicious meal.

The Vibe: They are bilingual (English and Spanish), which makes the environment feel welcoming and inclusive. The staff treated us like family—honestly, it was some of the best service I’ve ever had in the city.

It’s rare to find a place that balances speed, quality, and genuine kindness so well. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by. Highly recommended!

Fantastic spot for slices in Lincoln Square area. This place is definitely a hole in the wall type of spot, but slices are great: thin, crispy, great cheese to sauce ratio. Just what you’re looking for in an NYC slice. Plain slice and canned soda for under $5 which is pretty good for lunch in this area.

They have a nice slice assortment each day, and plenty of beverages to choose from. Service is quick and kind. They offer delivery and also have some outdoor seating. There’s not too much “indoor”, but the outdoor area is covered so that’s nice. I will be coming back regularly, so glad to have found this gem.

Maybe it’s a little bit too oily and too salty for my standards. But while I was there there was a lots of people coming in the store. So it must be a popular one.

Wednesday Jan 28, 2026: Picked up one order of “end of the day” pizza. Asked how many slices the order comes with – the man behind the counter said 4 slices and gave us a choice. Everything was going well up until this point. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere, a female employee came up and said we only get 3 slices.

We asked if they could heat up pizza so we could eat there – they said no. Since they wouldn’t allow us to dine in, I asked for an extra bag so my friend and I could split up the slices (1 person take home 1 slice, another person take home 2 slices). The female employee immediately got upset and said NO! Simply over asking for another PAPER bag that probably costs 10 cents?! Unbelievable. As we were leaving, a well-dressed man entered the store. The same female employee who had just berated me greeted him sweetly “Hello Sir.”

My friend later told me that perhaps the employee mistakenly thought I was asking for “another bag of pizza” instead of another PAPER bag. She should have clarified before jumping to conclusions. In my years of living in NYC, this is the only pizza place I’ve been to which puts pizza slices into paper bags (typically 3+ slices go into a box).

Morale of the story: DON’T ASSUME, TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT, TREAT THEM EQUALLY. The man who initially helped us was so kind. I feel bad for employees who have to work with this female employee. We won’t return because pizza wasn’t that tasty (FROZEN broccoli) and lady’s customer service left a sour taste in our mouths. It’s also a very small store with only 3 tables and questionable cleanliness.

Maybe it is the small size of the Restaurant that has kept this place so special, but I can guarantee without a doubt and tell you that this place has the best pizza in all of New York. A while back I was discussing with friends the best Pizza in New York and they mentioned a place out in Long Island that was recommended by Rachel Ray. There is another amazing pizza place called NY Pizza Suprema also recommended by Rachel Ray in Manhattan that I say is the second best pizza place.
I casually took them to this place, and they had a difficult time not admitting that this place is the best. Seriously, try it out. You will have the same problem if you already have a favorite because you will realize this is the best Pizza in all of New York. There may be some Brooklyn places, but you have to go all the way to Brooklyn, and this place is still going to be the best.

They stole money off my card. I ordered 2 slices and a drink. I look on my bank account and it’s $115 taken out. I return to the place to get things straightened. Owner says it was a mistake. At 3 pm he’d return the funds. It’s been 5 days now and my bank says they took another payment out $11 for the original charge but there is no refunds. I called and the owner acted like he wasn’t there and hung up on me. I called back and explained what the bank said, miraculously he’s the owner now. I am filing a police report for theft. I plan to bring charges and awareness because I may not be the first person they’ve done this too. I will also bring media attention to the restaurant and their scams.

We got pizza from La Trattoria through the Too Good To Go app and it was really good. Fresh, tasty, and totally worth it. We took it to go, but the place itself looked nice. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Best NYC pizza period. I’ve tried many a regular slice all over this country and from my experience this is the gold standard. Not too much cheese, sauce is a little sweet, crust is thin, bottom of the crust is crisp. And the consistency is excellent.
You can get a tourist slice of pizza for a dollar at Times Square, and if that’s what you want good for you. But this is a real NYC pizzeria.

A simple NY-style pizza place. Only 4 small tables inside and a few standing tables outside. I grabbed a slice and fan of soda for about $5.50. The service was quick and the pizza good. I recommend it for a quick bite.
