I’ve been here 4 times in 6 weeks and it’s been excellent every time! Service is great, food is always delicious and generously portioned. The burritos are massive and such a good price for what you get! House made hot sauce is good as well as salsa and queso. Lunch menu is everyday of the week including weekends! Most of the bad reviews on here were when the location was still a shoneys, ignore those and go feast!

They have the best food, with huge portions at great prices! Everyone there is always kind and the restaurant is always clean! Don’t have to wait long on food to arrive after ordering & they always come through checking plenty on your table. 4 teens who all enjoy it and love going which isn’t easy to do since the 3 siblings always argue about not liking the same place everywhere else – no complaints from anyone here!

This was the grand opening of El Mixteco in Grayson, Ky. As always with most Mexican restaurants we were 1st served with chips and salsa and got an order of queso also. The Salsa was ok but was a tad too hot for our liking but the queso I thought was really good. My daughter ordered a chicken quesadilla deluxe I think and she just didn’t like it, it looked good appearance wise. The beans just had a weird taste to them and the vegetables inside wasn’t throughly cooked so she gave it 2 stars. My wife order Tamales and she said they deserve a 0 and she wasn’t lying as I tried them. Probably the worse tamales I’ve ever tasted in my life. I didn’t think you could screw Tamales up? I ordered a pollo al la mexicana and it was actually real good. I’d seriously give it a 5 star and the serving was huge and thank goodness because I shared it with my wife. Our waiter did a really good and I thought the prices were reasonable and we also got a 30% discount for the grand opening which was good. Overall the food wasn’t nearly as good as the Tres Hermanos in Olive Hill and Grayson but I plan on trying it 1 more time.

Hubby and I went the weekend they opened here in Grayson. He ordered the chicken burrito with chorizo on top for his meal, and I ordered all beef taquitos mexicanos for mine. We also ordered 3 beef tacos and an order of cheese dip. Everything was very tasty, fresh and large portions. Would order any of it again. The cheese dip was very good. Most of the time, it just tastes like goo, but theirs had a good flavor. We were both full when we left and we brought home half of our meals.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. It was an enjoyable dinner and will be returning soon.

I got a lot of food for the price. The staff is very friendly & the building seems very clean. No loud annoying music. The food was good,not outstanding but definitely good & I’ll definitely go back. The portions was very generous. The menu item I ordered was called, special dinner. It was on three plates.
