Stopped by after a hike and was BLOWN AWAY by the food quality. The Prime Steak Martini is some of the more unique flavors I’ve tasted in a creamed potatoes and paired perfectly with the filet tips, which were prepared perfectly. Way to go 133 West! We’ll definitely be back.

We tried to have dinner at 133 West for a change from our normal! Typically we dine in Charlotte, Belmont, or Gastonia.
We entered the establishment and was seated pretty quickly, but they had a good crowd. Once we were seated we were asked by the hostess to split our table and that the server would be right with us! Once they seated the couple beside us the server went to them to take their order. At this point I realized that she was our server and had gone to them first! As I looked around I also noticed that we were the only people of color in the restaurant! The hostess seated another couple and said she would get our drinks and I said nevermind!
At this point I was ready to leave so we left! I called back to speak to the manager but was told that the manager was too busy to speak with me but they would take my name and number and call me back. I declined!
Well they won’t have to worry about getting my money again or anyone that I know!

Kelton was a great server! (I’m not sure how his name is spelled) he was very helpful and attentive! The food was also delicious. I recommend the steak tip martini as a must anytime you go. Also pictures is the American and tex mex burgers. Very nice vibe and great for a relaxing evening out in town.

The sea bass was perfectly cooked—tender, flaky, and beautifully seared. The creamy mashed potatoes paired perfectly, and the sauce was absolutely amazing, tying the whole dish together. Delicious and memorable.

We visited around noon on a Thursday and it was pretty busy inside. We got seated right away though, which was nice. The place has a nice atmosphere and is very upscale casual — a good brunch spot, but not necessarily where I’d choose for a date night, if that makes sense.

The food was solid. They had daily specials which were actually limited time options, which was cool. I got the shrimp quesadilla special with mango salsa and The Husband got the BBQ & Bacon mushroom swiss burger with fries. It wasn’t the best food I ever had, but not the worst either. It’s not anything I’ll be thinking about for a long time or craving later.

I also got the Apple Cider Margarita, which was okay. It was cute enough but tasted like apple juice with tequila, so that was a little disappointing. It sounded better on the menu and I wish I’d saved that $15.

Pricing wise, it’s what I’d consider average for 2025 — which is low-key expensive. Everything is priced at $13 or higher. So, expect to spend at least $40 for two people.

The service was excellent though. Dannie (I think that’s how you spell her name?) was attentive without being overbearing. It was a very chill experience and one I’d recommend of you’re in the area and want some where chill to sit down and have a meal.

Overall: 3.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐.5

Let me start off by saying I live in the low country of SC, so my taste is refined. In town visiting for my birthday. Service was very very good, server was knowledgeable about menu items and the like, and our drinks were always full. The manager was also very kind checking in on us.

When I think upscale, the interior is definitely modern, but could use a few touches such as salt and pepper shakers on the table, and some tea candles perhaps. The food presentation was good, but everything I tasted lacked flavor. The redeeming quality was the glaze on the salmon that I had, it had some flavor. It’s also possible we just came on an off night. I’d be willing to try this place again, there’s lots of potential with the food.

Iris is delightful! The ambience is inviting immaculate. Music volume is just right. Sat down presented with a specialty drinks menu, Mountain Coffee was delicious. Started with shrimp cocktail, tasted fresh and satisfying. Ordered a scrumptious burger that was cooked exactly how I ordered it. Followed by a piece of praline pie that will make your tongue slap your forehead! I highly recommend eating here, the experience was fabulous!! Service, food, drinks, and overall environment did not disappoint!!! Will eat there every visit to Kings Mountain, NC

We came here for lunch and it was very disappointing. I ordered a surf and turf small plate for lunch and nothing had any seasoning on it at all. The shrimp was cooked well but the steak was chard black on the bottom and the texture of the meat was what my husband described as “wet crackers.” I don’t even know how meat could have such a texture but it did. The steak had a burned charcoal taste that we could not get out of our mouths even after eating other things. They did take it off our bill.

We also ordered the lamb lollipops. They were grey and slimy. The lamb was sour like it was soaking in vinegar and had almost a fermented taste. They looked boiled and the fat on the lamb was not cooked which made it hard and tough to chew. We have had lamb many times and came here because the lamb looked so good on their website. It was just gross.

The highlight of the meal was the wedge salad it was very good. But unfortunately we will not be coming back.

Went here for my birthday and my daughter’s birthday. Mignon was good. Everything is basically à la carte so you have to pay separately for many items. It is on the expensive side which is fine but you would think since it’s your birthday(s) that someone would have given us a cookie, cake, or something for what we paid. The atmosphere is kind of on the dark side. People at the table behind us were complaining of being overcharged. Our 1st time there and unfortunately our last. It isn’t somewhere I would recommend to family or friends but if you’re curious, like we were, try it out for yourself.

Stopped in for dinner with friends 7/17/2021.
Very friendly and knowledgeable waitress, made some good suggestions, very attentive.
A nice woman with a green plastic chain for a necklace came over to help with pairing wine with our meal. Not sure if she was the manager or owner, but she did a great job recommending a pinot called Six Degrees. It was excellent.
We had a nice appetizer the waitress suggested called the Trio. It was excellent.
I had the Wedge salad with salmon, also excellent. I would recommend all of the choices from this evening. Reasonably priced, clean, spacious. Indoor and outdoor seating options and a full bar.
I certainly look forward to returning.
