Went to eat on Sunday with the family. It took 15 mins after we got seated to get service. When we finally got service she still didn’t bring all the drinks We got our food and haven’t been check on to see if we need something or refills. I would understand if if it was busy but it was slow. This is the second time we have came to eat on Sunday and the service has not improved. Not sure if we will ever return

Went there this past Saturday. There were 3 tables with people sitting at them including ours. We waited a good 10 minutes for a menu and for a waitress to come over. Nothing. I finally called out to one and she came over. She immediately said it would be at least a 40 minute wait to get our order. She said the kitchen staff were trying to fill call in orders first. The family of 4 behind us questioned the waitress about the 40 minutes wait situation because they had already been there 20 minutes. They were given the same response. Absolutely ridiculous to make your customers wait like this. If the dining area was standing room only, I totally understand. This is the not the first time we have encountered problems with service and food here but this will certainly be the last as we will not be back.

I went here with a group of 8 after church and had a great experience. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, the food was really good, and the pecan pie was top notch (don’t sleep on it ). It’s a great place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a good meal. I’ll definitely be back.

BBQ is an often argued topic, especially in my home state of North Carolina. We take barbecue seriously!
Stanton’s was recommended to me by a longtime friend from high school. Neither of us had been to Stanton’s, but we were aware of its reputation. We both had to drive 90 minutes to have lunch at Stanton’s and I’m glad I made the drive. Since this was a long drive, I ate more than if the restaurant had been a quick drive. I tried their chopped BBQ and fried shrimp plate with slaw and baked beans as sides. Hush puppies were served with the plate. Topped off with a BBQ sandwich. For a beverage, I ordered a 1/2 and 1/2 tea. The tea was fantastic! For me, the regular sweet tea would have been a little too sweet.
The BBQ was really, really good! They barbecue butts, as opposed to whole hog. The sides were solid, but not exceptional. The best side I tasted was the slaw and it was above average, while the beans were very average. The BBQ sandwich (a true test marker) with slaw – excellent. There were three people at our table and our total bill was only $52. The servers were excellent and about as nice as you could encounter. Just good southern hospitality.
Lastly, the building/business is a South Carolina Certified Heritage Site. It’s been around a long time and you feel you have stepped back in time. Stanton’s has served a lot of people over the years. The restaurant looked to be built onto the home on the property. There is plenty of parking, and an airstrip across the street. People fly in almost every day to have lunch and we were fortunate to see an arrival by air while we were there.
The next time I’m in the area, I will stop in for some BBQ!

Great southern barbecue spot. Nothing there is disappointing or expensive. So go with an empty stomach and a few dollars to walk/waddle away with a belly full of good food.

My husband and I have passed this place in our travels several times so we decided to try it. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our food to come and then the side items were cold, and the food itself lacked flavor. It was jut okay. I ordered onion rings with mine and they were greasy and cold. We plan to give this place a second try at a later date. Not very impressed.

What Barbeque place do you know of that has its own 2300 foot turf runway ! Yes , people can actual fly in their airplane or helicopter and get some great Southern Barbeque or Fish . Stanton’s has been in business for over 30 years and is a family tradition for many living in or near Bennettsville . The food is great and the service is down home . My favorite is the Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Cole Slaw on it and the buns are nice and warm . They make great Flounder and Hush Puppies too . They have a full menu of fish , shrimp , and other seafood , and also chicken , hamburgers , and desserts .
Unfortunately since I live in Las Vegas , I only get to go to Stanton’s when I come home to visit . I make it a point to go once since it is a family tradition . My mother would only eat Stanton’s BBQ when I was growing up . We had another place in town called Revel’s and we never thought their quality and taste was anywhere near Stanton’s and of course they are no longer in business .
I even made a video on YouTube of Stanton’s with lots of pictures of the food and vintage planes and helicopters that came by to get some food , so check it out ! Also if you are in the area , find a place that sells Blenheim Ginger Ale and get the Hot one . They make a Mild and a Diet too , but the Hot is the special one .

While traveling back from Myrtle Beach we came across this charming country dinner and after skimming some reviews gave it a shot. I had a nice plate of the fried flounder and wasn’t disappointed! My guest had the turkey/stuffing plate and said it reminded her of home cooking. The sweet tea is delicious and overall its simple, straightforward country food that is delicious. Service was great and attentive!
