We actually dined here back in November. Time surely flies by because I actually forgot to leave a review. Anyho, we arrived with family who were visiting. They highly recommended eating here since they’ve enjoyed it so much before. I do suggest making reservations since it is a popular restaurant. I loved that Gyu-Ichiro offers enclosed seating booths. It offers tremendous privacy and intimacy if one were bringing a date. Friendly servers with a great atmosphere!

This AYCE bbq and sushi spot in Bowery is a great dinner or lunch spot with friends or for a date. The interior is decorated with Japanese posters and has private booths for you to enjoy your BBQ at. You order on an iPad and your food is brought out to you soon after. Price for dinner is ~$50, and on Tuesdays it’s AYCD hot sake!

We ordered a variety of meats as well as appetizers and sashimi. The appetizers were pretty solid. I enjoyed their seaweed salad and seafood pancake. Although their takoyaki was good, I felt like it was a bit too oily. The meat was alright. Although they had good sauces and spices to dip it in, I felt like the quality was a bit too tough for me. The sushi/sashimi was good—better than I expected! Our favorite cut of the night actually ended up being the garlic shrimp. I ended my meal with their jelly appetizer/dessert. Wish there were more options for their AYCE package, but overall, not bad!

We came here for a company party with around 30 people and this was accompanied in the back room, where we sat at 6 tables and different fees for Adults of $48 and $24 for kids, the options were impressive for an All you can eat sushi, sashimi and BBQ were all options that were plentiful but lack the depth of flavor.
We were impressed how helpful the staff was as it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy.
The meat was tender need to be cooked well and the entrees lack something that we cannot put my stamp on.

Meat isn’t fresh (see pic) portion of the beef is discolored, some red ones when u flip to the other side became dull color. They also don’t marinate the stuff, they put the sauce on top of it last minute or something and maybe just to cover the discolor, sushi is below avg. not sure if it’s the time I went so I left it as a two and not a 1 star. But I went on Friday night after 7:30

barely serve you at all, refilled water and just dump food on ur table. Kid saw a rat by the kitchen under the cart, my kid is 6 and she tried to chase it lol. When she told the staff about the sighting (not to confront but to let them know that she saw one) , the staff just looked the other way with no response.

Meat was okay but their side dishes were horrible. The edamame’s were cold and the texture was off the kani salad was also a bit stale. There are a lot of good reviews on this place which confused me greatly. Maybe it was the time I came (8pm) they have limited sides. The only thing you can eat your meat with is white steamed rice. No sort of spaghetti or fried rice. You just have to stuff your face with meat and sushi. No desert on the menu. Maybe it’s because my expectations are high… other places just like this one have been amazing to me.

Came for lunch + dinner
lunch which is sorta worth it for the AYCE part, options extremely limited but for the price in the 20s isn’t to bad. Service is basic just take and come with the dishes, and one perk is you get your own booth so you get privacy
Meats – 3/10
Sushi – 5/10
Others – 3/10
Dinner for 50$ (60ish after tax/tip) not worth (avoid), the only difference between lunch and dinner is the sashimi, and that’s extremely limited and quality of fish is subpar at best… (a lot of better places for dinner but if no choice might as well) only reason I came was I got influenced because it said “AYCD sake tuesdays” and I guess it wasn’t the case

Combo AYCE BBQ and Sushi / Sashimi joint on Bowery.

The good:
– our service was quick, when we ordered, it was out to us very fast.
– service was good.
– decent sashimi and sushi
– the BBQ meats was good as well.

The not so good:
– I can’t really find any fault with this place, the only exception was a personal one, hard to eat both Sashimi and BBQ at 1 sitting.

Overall: very good value for the price, decent quality of both fish and meats at all you can have for 50$. For me personally, it was tough to have both kinds of food at one single sitting, if you have the stomach for it, this place is a good value for the quantity and quality of food.

Update : 9/14/2025 -> still coming here, at $50, it’s still IMO the best deal for sashimi AYCE, i just personally cannot do BBQ protein and raw proteins in the same meal, so when i come here, i primarily do sashimi and grill a bit o mushrooms and corn.

As an alternative to a very large surf and turf @ $50, they have a weekday lunch special, for $30 that has 3 sushi rolls, eel, salmon and california, and a few limited BBQ meats, and most of the fried stuff available, not a bad reduced price and selection.

This place is a fantastic “hole in the wall” spot! The all-you-can-eat deal is a steal. The sashimi and sushi rolls are surprisingly fresh! I couldn’t stop eating the sashimi! While the raw meat and seafood for grilling isn’t the best I’ve had, it’s still a great value to the meal.

We’d go back! We had a good experience and things were as advertised for the Tuesday dinner special – however they don’t advertise the Sapporo part when you arrive. You have to “know.”

Everything we had was very fresh! They were able to accommodate us although we did not have a reservation. Happy about that. The space is cute, and the bathroom was clean.

They do limit the length of time you can place orders, so get what you feel you need promptly. Some of the meat dishes have a marinade on them and I loved that. The other meats didn’t have seasoning but there is a powdered seasoning and some sauces at the table. I do wish the menu had more vegetable items – they were very limited. Also, having fried rice and a dessert menu would be neat.

Perfect for a group because the price is fixed, especially with the Tuesday night deal that includes select beverages.

I would say you only should go to this restaurant for lunch during weekdays as they propose an all-you-can-eat formula at $28.95 ($48.95 otherwise). The selection is large and the food is really decent compared to the price. It won’t be the best sushis or meat of your life but at least it’s unlimited and the atmosphere is nice. Perfect for parties of 4, the grill is at the middle of the table. Service was perfect and they bring your food very quickly.
