I was quite impressed! I’ve driven by this place over 100 times and until recently have never stopped in. The lighted shopping center electronic billboard started highlighting the fact that Gennaro’s offered Chicago style deep dish pizza. I put it on my list of local restaurants to try and several weeks ago my wife and I made the drive up to Pottstown to give them a shot.
The interior is typical of a pizza shop with all the premade pizzas behind the glass the ovens the stack boxes and a few sets of tables and chairs. We grabbed a to-go menu, sat down and studied it for a little bit and then ordered up the vegetarian Chicago deep dish; cost $28. The way you’re told it would be about 25 minutes for the pizza. No additional food was ordered just a couple of drinks.
When they brought out we realized it was definitely worth the wait. The crust was phenomenal and was handmade like a little fortress wall around the outside holding all the cheese, sauce and ingredients snugly within. Speaking of cheese, this pie is LOADED with a fresh, gooey and tasty variant.
The deep dish was awesome: taste, structure, quality, freshness of the veggies, everything. Neither one of us could finish more than one slice so we got to enjoy this for several more nights at home as a good quality left over.
If you’re looking for a good quality pizza and you love a deep dish, I would definitely recommend stopping at Gennaro’s. Small place tucked back, sort of in the corner of the Suburbia shopping center right along Rt.100, south of Pottstown proper.

The Sicilian pizza is the best. I have never had thick crust pizza that was light and airy. Tried the Fat Sammy sandwich, and I can hands down say the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Portion size is not missed here. Come hungry and leave full. Nothing lacks on flavor. Very pleased.

We ordered a sicilian pie last week around 11:00 am. I can only assume that the pizza given to us was from the day before as it was absolutely horrible. It was barely warm and the crust was hard and extremely crispy as if it had been sitting out over night! We will not be back to waste our $ 30 plus dollars!

Absolutely mouthwatering! The cheese pizza, boasting big slices, was perfectly crispy. The chicken cheesesteak was packed with flavor and oh-so-satisfying. And the giant calzone “small size” lol a heavenly combination of savory fillings wrapped in a golden, flaky crust. Highly recommended.

We were there a few months ago and had an outstanding experience at Gennaro’s. The owner was such a kind man, tremendous host, and we tried several types of slices. We went back today for the Chicago-style deep dish and it was fantastic. We drove 50 minutes for this pizza and it was worth it.

BEST sauce to dip my garlic knots in!! I usually prefer regular pizza slices instead of deep dish but Gennaros had great reviews so I decided to try it out and it was AMAZING! Got deep dish and garlic knots for eagles game. Peppers are cooked really well too if you like that on your pizza
