The Windham Restaurant is proud to occupy one of Windham’s most significant historical sites. First operated as a farm in 1729, the present Colonial style house was built in 1812 and was extensively restored at the turn of this century. The Windham Restaurant features elements that are rustic, romantic and relaxing, including working fireplaces in our bar and first floor dining area. The decor complements the historic character of the building with a few carefully selected modern elements to create a distinctive dining experience. The Windham Restaurant is great every single time. Nick is an exceptional bartender—funny, welcoming, and his drinks are always fantastic. The food never disappoints, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Patrick is an absolute gem of a waiter—always attentive, upbeat, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. My recent dining experience at The Windham Restaurant in New Hampshire was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and the service, provided by our server Taylor, was impeccable.
I ordered the fish and chips, which came with a generous serving of onion rings and French fries. The fish was incredibly fresh and the entire dish was well worth the $25 price tag. The highlight of my meal, however, was the sweet potato and cranberry salad – it was absolutely the best part of the night!
My wife and I also shared the shrimp and crab cakes, which were delightfully crispy and flavorful. While my wife found her Caesar salad to be just okay, she thoroughly enjoyed the chicken pasta. The pasta was super creamy with perfectly cooked chicken.
One of the most impressive aspects of our visit was the speed of the service. We were in and out in about 30 minutes, which was perfect for our evening plans.
Overall, The Windham Restaurant provided a fantastic dining experience with delicious food and excellent service.

Food was great… I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. I expected the usual restaurant 3 to 4 pieces of chicken. I was surprised by how much chicken came with my salad, it was about triple the “usual restaurant chicken”.
Staff was very attentive… A+
And the owner was walking around table to table asking if everybody was enjoying their meal.
The prices aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for. Would recommend

What an amazing place!! The food was outstanding, every single thing on the menu sounded so good it literally took us too long to order our food, our incredibly patient & thoroughly awesome server Kristine helped us make choices and lol, Thank God she did!! Oh man I need to come back here 20 more times because holy smokes everything looked and smelled so friggin good my head was on a swivel!! The place was packed so we ate in the new Speakeasy upstairs, but it was so cool, live music and fast friendly service! Prices for this type of food was more than reasonable. I am in love with this place ❤️

The staff were friendly. Our waiter was nice but wasn’t very professional. Food was disappointing. Was expecting better quality for the price. Tasted cheaply made and had no flavor. The portions were large which is good. Restaurant was cold so I had to eat with my coat on. It was very loud and jam packed. Had higher expectations given the reviews and high pricing.

Furthermore the upstairs has entertainment with another bar and lounge area to sit. The renovations to the restaurant are modern vintage. Love it!

I would give 0 stars if I could. We’ve been wanting to check out this restaurant but, it’s pretty telling when you leave a restaurant before even ordering a drink. Aside from the friendly young hostess, we felt completely invisible.
The bartender ignored us while promptly greeting and serving guests who were seated after us. No acknowledgment, no greeting — just menus dropped on the table. After waiting in a not-at-all busy restaurant, we decided our time was better spent elsewhere.
When we explained why we were leaving, the response was a quick apology with no effort to fix the situation.
Service like this makes it easy to decide not to come back.

Nice atmosphere, good food, and even better service! It has a nice setting for a date or to bring family. The space is a little tight, but that’s not a big issue. The waitresses were hustling and attentive. Our food came out quickly and hot despite it being a full house. Portion sizes were good too. Glad we got a reservation as we likely would have had to wait (6:30pm)! Would recommend this place to anyone. We are sure to be back again and are happy to have this Italian restaurant nearby.

Absolutely delicious food! Loved the restaurant and had really great service. It was very loud with patrons sitting at the bar, which made it a little difficult to fully enjoy our visit. However, the food and service made it worth it. Will gladly visit again when in town.
