I absolutely love the egg flower soup here and the food hits the spot every time. Portions are perfect and they come to you piping hot.

The server was very nice, with a great personality and smile. That’s were the good stuff ended here. The food is served on trays reminisent of school lunches and as others have suggested, is very bland. The only spice used here is soy sauce, which leads me to the worst fried rice I have ever experienced at a Chinese restaurant. It was literally just white rice with soy sauce, no peas, no nothing. This place is like someone who has never tasted Chinese food is cookng here. The brown sauce was watery ( not right ) and the $13 chicken lunch ( we walked out hungry ) had so little meat in the dishes I feel like I get more from a Costco sample. Just a lazy restaurant with high prices and small, bland portions. Too bad becaue you want to support the small restaurant, however as nasty as Panda is, that still would have been a better lunch. Please Chef, if you are reading this get the book “Chef Chu’s Distinctive Cuisine of China” as a place to get started with authentic and flavorful Chinese food.

Sadly, every bit as disappointing as the last time we ate here, well over 7 years ago
— Tea tasteless, not jasmine tea
— Egg flower soup flavorless, spring rolls flavorless
— Shrimp appetizer was less than 50% shrimp to coating!!
— Chow mein served at room temp, not hot, had some 1” pieces of meat (not small slices throughout as at most other Asian restaurants) not cooked well, no onion, no celery
— Fried rice tasted like white rice with soy sauce, with no egg, no veggies, no pork
All in all, a very mediocre experience, not one I’d care to repeat.
And it had to be 65° or less inside on an already cold night … well, I guess that was a few degrees warmer than outside

It’s bad enough that we don’t have authentic Chinese food in the area, and not sure what happened to this American Chinese-style restaurant, but it got worst and skimpy with food. If you look at the first four photos below, I took that 3-4 years ago. The last three were a to-go order recently. I’ve been to this place three other times, and I knew something was different. Food quality is not up to par, service is ok, lunch plates are so expensive, meals are overpriced, and some see overcooked.
Except for San Luis Obispo County, Chinese food is cheap and more authentic. Unfortunately, no one in the county does offer any authentic Chinese food. The amount of salt, msg, and other masking flavors to make it looks and taste like Chinese food is what makes us gain more weight.

AMAZING!!! One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to! The service and atmosphere was excellent. The food was so delicious and the wait wasn’t long. Especially the orange chicken! Bomb!! Prices were good too. I will definitely be a returning customer. Loved it!!

Love this restaurant, best Chinese food in the Five Cities, South SLO county. Wifey usually gets dinner combo A, and I have either General Tso’s or orange chicken or Sweet N Sour pork or Chicken. The family that runs this restaurant are pleasant, friendly and accommodating.
