The Bok building is a magical place, but go to the roof and eat at Irwins. The food, drink, and service was outstanding. The outdoor rooftop seating has a beautiful view of south Philly. Our reservation was outside. During our experience it did rain a bit, but it was worth staying. Our server was a trooper for keeping the patio goin. At night during a Phils/Eagles game you can hear the crowd roar. Electric.

The food and drink was great. There are Mezze, Pasta, Main Entree and Dessert options. I assume the menu is seasonal based on the ingredients, but I am unsure. There is a cocktail menu, wine offerings and full bar. I didnt have time to even take pictures of all the food and cocktails we were enjoying it soo much. We ordered about half the menu and will be returning to order the remaining items.

Dessert is worth it’s own mention. At a lot of places, dessert is kinda a throwaway/pass. Not at Irwins. I told my wife we will also be coming back to Irwins solely for drinks and desserts next time we are eating somewhere else close by. We got the Milk and Honey Pistachio Gelato and an Almond Torta Cake that should be nominated for some kind of award.

I would recommend making a reservation. If the weather is nice, eat outside. Tell your spouse you are taking them to a Sicily Roof Jawn for dinner.

We had the swordfish mezze, gnocchi pasta, and ribs for the entree. Impeccable does not even begin to describe how good this food was. Spectacular. My new favorite spot. Not to mention the view!

Gorgeous location, great service, and most importantly the food is amazing. I fervently wish Irwin’s existed in my hometown as I’m sure I would become a regular. As it is, I will definitely be going back the next time I’m in Philly. The setting, on the 8th floor of an old school building, is extremely cool and aesthetic and they styled the space beautifully with lots of plants. The view is wonderful. I went with a friend and we shared a “girl dinner” of four desserts followed by pasta. I keep thinking about the gelato I had, which was flavored with sweet cream and topped with a layer of honey and a mound of pistachios. The sweet and salty combination was amazing. Another standout was the orange olive oil torte with a bay leaf-infused cream. The lemon pasta was simple with a depth of flavor and strong umami. The bathroom also gets excellent lighting for selfies. Highly recommend.

The setting is very cool, the food is definitely good, and the overall experience was worth it. Navigating the building is easy as they have people stationed in the hallways. We were told we had a group that needed to be sat at our table by 8pm when we arrived at 6:10pm, so we were conscious of that the whole time. However, our last entree seemed delayed and we were worried about throwing off the other reservation but it was clear they weren’t actually in a rush for us to leave. My table agreed we would have loved a *touch* more attention from our server but Saturday nights are busy. Overall, I’d definitely recommend but I wouldn’t say I was blown away by the food.

Dining at Irwin’s was a great experience overall. The food was amazing, the atmosphere super nice with great views and our server the sweetest! If you are thinking of trying modern Sicilian cuisine, do it. All the plates, even if they had ingredients that we would normally avoid, were emptied. All the flavors blend so nicely together. The fish and the chicken are a must try, we couldn’t stop raving about them. We were trying to figure out why people leave bad reviews and I think it’s because they expect regular American-Italian food. Can’t wait to go back again and try new flavors!

If it’s a nice clear day and decent temps, go. The views are incredible. The food is excellent. And I’ve always had great service. We were a party of 3 and got the tasting menu. Apps, 3 pastas and 2 main dishes. Can’t wait to come again. I always give 5 stars if the restaurant is good, I enjoyed my time, and I would return. This is a notch above.

A fabulous eatery with a nice friendly vibe, super innovative and tasty menu, and delicious creative cocktails. The gin-chamomille cocktail, Agrodolce Chicken, and pasta we had were fantastic! The view of Philadelphia is spectacular too!

The prosciutto and melon was interesting, although I thought the melon cut too much into the prosciutto flavor. I enjoyed the melon vinaigrette a lot. The focaccia was tasty and the crust was perfectly crunchy. I wasn’t a huge fan of the tomato sauce. I felt like it detracted from the eggplant and basil flavors. The gnocchi was fine. It was a bit too dense in my opinion. The orecchiette lacked depth, and could use some more salt at least. I really liked the full fish. I forgor what kind of fish it was, but the skin was nicely crisped and the taste was great paired with the salsa verde. The views were crazy. Service was good.

I’ve eaten here a few times and it’s always been fantastic. Tonight especially so. The setting is obviously unique but the food and service would deliver in any location.

From the second we got off the elevator we were friends. The host welcomed our kids and us (we normally don’t bring our kids to dinner) more naturally than those closest to us. We had a temporary diet restriction and the chef came out and talked us through it and tailored something specific to what we needed.

I work in this industry and spend pretty much all my free time in it too. Places like this are rare sources of both inspiration and aspiration for me.
