Best pizza I ever had in Maadi and probably Cairo, period.
Worth the price.
Can’t complain about the ambience either.

La Vela is a true hidden gem in Maadi! It’s an Italian restaurant owned by a chef who lived in Italy—and it shows in every bite. The menu is impressively wide, offering everything from appetizers and soups to pastas, beef, chicken, fish, and pizzas. We ordered the salmon pasta, and it was honestly the best homemade pasta I’ve had in Egypt—so fresh and full of flavor. The pizza was loaded and reminded me of Ibiza Tower’s rich, cheesy style. Even the soups were spot on. Everything tasted authentic and made with care. Highly recommended if you love real Italian food!

I dinned there tonight, unprofessional host but I accepted it because the of smiling innocent girls, I can’t rate all the food but I’ll rate what I ate and I think it’s fair enough. I ordered , with my wife , unprofessional girl , I can’t write the waiter because she’s not, ravioli mushroom with 4 kinds of cheeses 400 pounds served al dente ,entrecôte, they served rare for her without asking her 450 pounds , my escalope was burned and oily 450 pounds , I didn’t liked it at all, they brought small bottle of water, 600ml for 60 pounds and really this is unacceptable at all because the place isn’t at all a 5 stars place , the subtotal was 1360 pounds and he charged 12% taxes , so the total was 1520 for a night I really didn’t like at all.
The owner speaks very loud asking the leaving customers if they need anything else like tea, coffe or dessert.
They need a professional staff and they should make the portions enough because I went home to continue my dinner.
N.B : you need to be very patient because they are very slow because of lack of workers

Honest review:
– Lasagne: Best we ever had, genuinely, we indulged on every bite
– Alfredo: Quite bad to me much that i wouldn’t eat it, but my fiance gave it a fair 7 saying he just wouldn’t order it again
– Avocado milk+honey drink: Perfection!
– Napoli coffee: Flavorful, wished it were enough for two tiny cups than one
Overall what we noticed is:
* Real quality ingredients
* Lightness of the dishes (which isn’t so easy to find nowadays)
* Pleasant interior & low crowd
Bear in mind the restaurant tends to close early

An amazing place. Authentic Italian food I really liked it a lot. The prices are high but the quality high as well. Hope that they consider the prices to attract more customers.

As if, I travelled to italy while being in Egypt, truthfully, it was amazing, for the first time in Egypt, genuine Italian homemade tortelli and a normal tiramisu as it should be (soaked with coffee liqueur and a real mascarpone on top) which I couldn’t find anyone who present in Egypt so far, In conclusion , I highly recommend this place!
