Navarre was lovely. They’re reservation free (except parties of six or more), but getting an early table on a Sunday was no problem, although it did get busier later. If you do end up waiting, their sister establishment next door, the bar Angelface, was also wonderful.
The ‘we choose’ menu was a lot of fun – wonderful things my wife and I might not have chosen. The black cod (I believe) was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever tried.
Word to the wise, just go ahead and get the wine pairing to go with ‘we choose’ – It’s not much more than two glasses of wine anyway.

My husband and I have named this our favorite restaurant! We eat very vegetable forward, and there is no better place in Portland to find a diverse amount of simple, creative vegetable dishes that are quality ingredient forward. The seafood is also wonderful and so is the brunch. Everything is seasonal, and the menu changes daily with a few mainstays. The by-the-glass wine list is the most expansive you’ll find in the city. On top of all this, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the service is just wonderful!!!! The prices are great, however our wallet hurts from eating here way too much. We’d probably just live here if we could.

WOW the food here was such a massive disappointment. I truly do not understand the earlier reviews. The house mushrooms were just boiled baby bellas with two sprigs of rosemary and the ‘house albacore’ was canned tuna with some sauerkraut. The ‘duck and quince’ was just duck breast with jam spread on the plate. I have not been so underwhelmed at a restaurant in my entire time in Portland. My partner and I don’t often get time for a night out and saved our cash to come by on a recommendation, but all I can say is that this was wholly disappointing and a huge waste of money.

Ate here tonight for the first time. Cozy little place with ample seating. Extensive menu served AlaCarte and many wines as well. Chose the house choice for the dishes and was served probably 10 different things over 4 courses. I felt like I got to taste so many things I’ve never had and everything was great. The service was perfectly attentive and the food was presented as you would expect from such a great place. Perfect temperature and flavours, the wait staff was very knowledgeable, and I never felt hurried along. I wish I had room for dessert so I will definitely be back!

Lovely restaurant with delicious small plates. A wide variety of meat and vegetable ensembles. This reminded me a lot of dining in Europe. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Will be returning!

Upscale European restaurant in Portland. The lighting definitely makes it look cozy, ideal for a date night. The waitress did an excellent job of explaining the menu to me. I love the idea of ordering a smaller portion of each item.
My only qualm is there is nothing unique about the food that justifies the high price. They could definitely make some improvements on the taste front, more along the sides of seasoning or dipping sauce probably. Quality is great but I wouldn’t call this food delicious

Absolutely loved our breakfast today. There are so many distinct and interesting flavors to explore here that make for a really refreshing experience if you’re tired of normal brunch fare. We’ll be back.

We dropped in for a quick bite. It is a small space, quant with a modern touch. It seems like the type of place that fills up with its regulars. The food was good. The bread looked incredible, too bad I’m GF and had to watch my husband devour the stack.

Wonderful food, wine, and service. It felt like we were in Europe. My spouse and I shared small plates (mussels, lamb, cabbage, broccoli) from the regular and daily special menu paired with wine. We also enjoyed dessert (almond cake) paired with Port. Highly recommended!
