Tofu Chon: Authentic Korean Cuisine Awaiting Your Taste
Reviews
Don’t be fooled by the name—Tofu Chon is so much more than just a tofu house. This new spot in LA K-Town serves full-on, delicious Korean food with a huge menu, and I haven’t had a single bad dish yet.
Highly recommend the bibimbap—fresh veggies, ground meat, a runny egg, and purple rice mixed with spicy sauce and sesame oil. It’s light, flavorful, and absolutely addictive.
The seafood pancake is crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with big, fresh squid. The tofu soup has a rich, savory broth and silky tofu.
We also got the cheese ribs (galbi jjim)—similar to Soongdong but lighter and less heavy. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, smothered in melty cheese, and so satisfying.
Side dishes are great, portions are generous, and the price is super reasonable (around $30+ per person). If you arrive around 5 PM, you might even get free parking!
Easily one of my new favorite Korean restaurants in K-Town. Will definitely be coming back.
The soup was rich and slightly thick, not light at all, and satisfying from the very first spoonful.
The tofu was soft and paired perfectly with the broth, and the flavor stayed consistent until the end.
The seafood pancake we ordered on the side was also better than expected.
Crispy on the outside, generously filled on the inside, and not greasy at all
it went really well with the soondubu.
We also ordered the marinated crab separately, and it was a great choice.
Well balanced seasoning, not too salty or fishy, and definitely one of those dishes that makes you want more rice.
Totally worth ordering as a side.
The banchan that came with the meal were all solid, and you could tell they were thoughtfully prepared.
On top of that, the service was friendly, and since it’s a newly opened spot, the restaurant was clean and comfortable.
Overall, this is a place I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys deep, rich soondubu and likes to order sides to go with it.
It’s definitely a flavor that stays with you
I’d come back again.
You need to place your order through a screen, which I loved since you could request things at your own convenience and time.
After years of venturing out to Rowland Heights for tofu soup, I’m glad to have an excellent restaurant in the IE!
And I will definitely be coming back often
I had the Galbi Tofu Soup combo
With purple rice
And my son had the pork cutlet with white rice!
He is a very picky eater and he was loving the pork cutlet!
Their banchan is also pretty good!
I love the spicy cucumber
