My favorite sandwich is the Sophia. It is filled with mortadella, Barata cheese, basil, and pistachio and crusted sauce. My explanation won’t make sense until you bite into one of these sandwiches.
The coffees are outstanding. I helped myself to an espresso pistachio, and the next time I had a cappuccino pistachio get yourself here as soon as possible. There is a long line during the weekends, but during the weekdays after lunch is a great time to grab your favorite sandwich just look at these photos. Congratulations to Luigi and Lily and their entire staff. They are very hard-working people and it shows and it tastes.
The second you walk in, you’re hit with that warm, buttery smell of freshly baked croissants. You can tell they’re made in house. They had a variety of flavors and I grabbed a few for my coworkers. I ended up tasting them all, strictly for quality control of course. My favorite was the almond croissant. Perfectly flaky on the outside, soft inside, and just the right amount of sweetness.
It feels like one of those true neighborhood spots that Orlando Ave needed. Cozy, welcoming, and genuinely delicious. I’m already planning my next visit to try their sandwiches. If the croissants are this good, I know the rest of the menu is going to be solid.
The only thing I will say is, this spot does not have enough room for more than 4 people at a table. So if you a large party, you’ll need more than one table. It’s was slightly challenging to eat with 6 adults, a child and a baby.
To-go orders or grab and go would be better.
We also ordered some cheese cake and canolis to go.
It’s a bakery serving delicious bombolone, cornetto (Italian croissant) both filled with either Nutella, pistachio or Bavarian cream. They have the most amazing focaccia, soft, pillowy & chewy. It was topped with mortadella & pistachio, unreal! The almond cornetto tastes like no other with real almond flavor, shatters as I bit into it, buttery and divine! The cappuccino is so good. It is creamy and rich. To go I bought cannolis & they were a perfect after dinner delight.
They also have Italian cured meats & cheeses. Prosciutto, mortadella, salami & soppressata. Fresh mozzarella, burrata & parm.
The service is friendly, informative and helpful. There is Italian products like olive oils, gnocchi, pasta, pesto, Italian cookies, pistachio & Nutella spreads.
There is plenty of parking in the back and there is an entrance back there which I discovered once inside. Lol. I know for next time. And there will be a next time!
Service from Lilly 20/10 (thanks)
Cornetto alla Crema 10/10
Sfogliatella 11/10
And also I had the chance to try a sample of their famous Sophia sandwich. I’m coming back for more SOON
I was personally attended by Luigi, whose warm hospitality and attention made the experience even better. On top of all that, the authentic Italian mini market is a fantastic bonus—you can find high-quality products that take you straight back to Italy.
This place is a gem. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real Italian food, great service, and an unforgettable experience ☕
