After recently changing ownership, The Famous in Glendale, California has emerged as a delightful new spot worth checking out. From the moment you step inside, the friendly service makes you feel right at home.
The drinks menu offers a nice variety of classic cocktails and signature creations, all at very reasonable prices. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the drink prices were, especially for the quality. The “Dream” cocktail, in particular, was a standout – a perfectly balanced mix of spirits and fruit flavors that went down easy.
The overall atmosphere has a cool, casual vibe that makes it a great place to unwind with friends or enjoy a low-key date night. The decor has a modern, minimalist style that gives the space an open, airy feel.
While the food menu is limited, what they do offer appears to be well-executed. From the little I sampled, the kitchen is turning out some tasty bites to complement the drinks.
If you’re in the Glendale area and looking for a new spot with friendly service, affordable drinks, and a comfortable setting, I’d highly recommend giving The Famous a try. It has the makings of a hidden gem that’s sure to attract a loyal local following.
I’ve been here four times and the vibe is really inconsistent. Two visits were great, low lighting, soft music, a chill atmosphere where you can relax. The other two times, the music was blasting pop so loud you couldn’t even have a conversation.
Between the billing issue and the hit-or-miss atmosphere, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. It’s too bad, because when it’s good, it’s a great spot.
