Quaint dining spot with a menu of pastas & classic Northern Italian dishes amid contemporary decor.

I was looking so forward to this place, but after last nights dinner experience, I will NEVER come back here. Our server did not care to be involved at all. Starting from the basics, everyone had a bread basket but us. I also ordered steak and frites, and had asked the server if I was able to get it well-done (I know some restaurants do not like to) he said yes thats fine. Upon slicing the steak, it was still pink and not well-done. I could not even let the server know as after our food was delivered, the server NEVER came back to check on us, like 30-40 minutes and no server. The person serving us water came more than the actual waiter. I had to switch food and eat the chicken and gave my steak away to the person I was dining with. I would not even say it was busy as even when we received the bill, the waiter did not come back until 10-15 minutes later to retrieve it. I am honestly dissapointed. The only reason it got two stars was the presentation was nice and the ladies serving us water were kind. Ive never been to olive garden but im sure i wouldve had better service there.

We DID NOT have reservations, next time I will. Upon arrival at 5:55 we were asked “what do you need”. Not a welcome to Cafe Tiramisu or even a “how can we help you.” We were asked if we had a reservation. Then we were told….”we can sit you at a table but you have to be done by 7:15. I have never felt so unwelcomed and rushed at a restaurant. We were celebrating my birthday so i wanted to take our time to enjoy it. When we left at 7:15 no one was waiting and there were several tables available. I would highly recommend hosting training to make guests feel welcomed.
Our server was amazing and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was awesome.

I had high hopes for celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday, especially after doing research for some of the best restaurants in Raleigh and hearing such great things about this restaurant in particular. While the food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was perfect, the service left much to be desired. I made a reservation well in advance and specifically mentioned it was a birthday celebration and requested that something be done for the occasion. However, when it came time for dessert, I noticed nothing had been done differently, and there had been no mention of a birthday from the server or the staff for the entirety of the dinner. I then kindly asked the server if they could bring out a candle for my boyfriend’s dessert, as I had mentioned his birthday when making the reservation and had requested something be done for the occasion. To my surprise, the server scoffed at my request, acting as if it was an inconvenience. Not only was this unprofessional, but it also made me feel completely disregarded, especially given the context of celebrating a special moment.
The lack of attention to detail and the dismissive behavior from the staff completely ruined what should have been a special moment. After dinner, I attempted to reach someone from the restaurant to discuss my experience, but it was nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone. I left multiple messages and was told I would receive a callback but received no response, which only added to my frustration.
While I can appreciate great food and a nice setting, I expect better customer service, especially for a celebration at a fine dining restaurant. It’s incredibly disappointing that after such a great meal, I was left feeling unheard and dismissed. I’d caution anyone celebrating a special occasion here to manage their expectations.

We just tried new location for first time. Originally had late reservation but we finished earlier from plans and figured to check if we could be accommodated. They were able to seat us and the new location is beautiful. Not as tight and small as the old but still felt quaint. Bread before dinner just as amazing. Dinner was great! Def plan to return.

Cafe Tiramisu has been a favorite of ours for special occasions for several years. On 1/27/26, we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, which also happened to be the grand opening of the new location. Everything was absolutely beautiful and there was an excitement in the air. I noticed that either the manager or perhaps the owner was circulating throughout the restaurant at each table asking patrons about their dining experience. My husband and I were the only patrons of color that were dining at the restaurant, so it was quite apparent when our table was overlooked to inquire about our experience. It was made even more obvious when both tables located on either side of us were recognized, but we were conveniently overlooked or “unseen.” Our money is the same color as anyone else’s and we expected to be treated with the same respect and recognition of everyone else who was dining in the restaurant.

This restaurant is small, but that does not even matter because everything else here is A+! Wonderful service, great bread with delicious pesto sauce as a starter, amazing food (and for the cost I was pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes)! You definitely get your monies worth even though pricier than most places, but again, welll worth it), and mouthwatering desserts. I would definitely come here again and try more meals. Just beware if you have dairy sensitivities, it appeared everything had dairy in it.

We had a 6pm reservation for four Saturday evening at our favorite restaurant in Raleigh, Tiramusu. The new restaurant decor is beautiful. The staff is top of the line. The menu offers a plethora of delicious dishes.
However, the sound level is deafening! I literally could not hear the people talking at my table. By the end of the dinner I was exhausted from yelling across the table and straining to hear what they were saying. Honestly, I was trying to read the lips of my friends. I cannot imagine how a party of six or eight could communicate at all. We have hosted celebrations there in the past for 8+pp and had a wonderful experience. I wouldn’t even consider trying that in the current space.
Also, the tables are so close together the guests and staff could barely squeeze by between the tables.
I did notice that the floors had area rugs which looked nice. Possibly, full room carpet would absorb the noise???
Please accept my comments as constructive criticism, not negative complaints. We have LOVED your restaurant for years and are raving fans who have bragged about your cozy unique restaurant as our “go to” choice in Raleigh.
By the way, I have spoken to other regulars who share my concerns.
Bottom line, we love the food, staff, decor , however, we miss the cozy ambience of the former location.

We went for valentine’s dinner and had a great experience. The portions were great. The ambience was warm and quiet. The service was very attentive and responsive. We loved our waitress. The decorations matched the setting. The food was great and dessert even better. My one gripe was that it seemed a tad expensive, all things considered, but definitely an enjoyable night.

Great bread, drinks & service. We had the best service by a gentleman that has been in the industry for over 20 years. The complimentary bread with oil was fresh and delicious. We had the lobster bisque which I wish had some pieces of lobster in it but it was good. I had the shrimp & scallop pasta dish in a lemon sauce which was all cooked perfect but wasn’t for me. My GF had a stuffed chicken with spinach pasta dish and she wasn’t a fan either & ended up having acid reflex. The alcoholic drinks were good and strong so we only needed one. Maybe it was the dishes we chose but I’ve had better at other restaurants. It’s a very small place so if you are claustrophobic it’s not for you. Best part was the bread, drinks and service. Give it a try at least once. I’m Italian and grew up in a Sicilian household with authentic Italian dishes so my taste is different. Maybe I only like my mom’s Italian cooking who is now deceased R.I.P.

The food at Café tiramisu is always fantastic and on point. However, with the move to the larger location, the atmosphere is no longer intimate. It has become so loud even the servers have to yell to tell the tables the specials. We were all exhausted when we got home just by trying to have a conversation. Also, we were there for 2 hours and 15 minutes and we did not even order appetizers or dessert. I realize they are still figuring out the move to a larger place, but that is just too long. We won’t be back for a while, especially if they don’t fix the noise issue.
