We were welcomed into a well decorated and inviting dining room, the Hostess directed us to a table without delay. As we looked at the extensive menu, we enjoyed a Horchata cocktail that was excellent. The cinnamon whiskey was at the right level, flavor without being too boozey.
Surprised that chips and salsa was an extra charge, but maybe worth it so that we thought twice about filling up too early.
We chose Tacodilla with Chipotle chicken and Mole Enchiladas.
The tacos were a wonderful surprise, toasty and cheesy with spicy chicken inside. Delicious and inventive dish with perfect plate presentation.
The enchiladas were kind of drowned in the sauce, presentation wasn’t great. But the mole sauce was spicy and thick, great rendition of a classic entree. The tortillas were soft and held up well in the rich sauce. The rice and beans complimented the dish perfectly.
We will definitely visit Xolo again soon.

We have been to Xolo several times, and each time is a new experience in excellence. The flavors are always on point. Tonight I had the Chipotle Chicken Enchilladas, and the sauce was over the top delicious. Always a great meal, and a super value for the price. Saw the place on Check Please Arizona, and had to check them out. Never disappointed.

Found the place through Google maps. The staff was very friendly. I had a chicken Taco Salad, I liked it. They serve black beans with their meals. My son had the birria tacos, we didn’t like the broth, some spicy was too strong. I would definitely return. I love their decor, very unique.

A friend and I came for lunch on 2/14. Delicious! We started with the Chips and Souiza – delicious and savory. For my entree, I got the Chile Relleno and it was also fantastic. Portioned right, cooked perfectly and even the rice and beans were delicious! My friend got the chimixanga and she loved it. We also had the house margarita and it was smooth and tasty as well. Service was friendly and attentive. We will defiantly be going again!!!

You can see, feel and taste the passion in every aspect of this local business. It does feel like a strip mall restaurant. It feels like you are eating on vacation at a restaurant only the locals know about. It’s almost like speakeasy. The food is delicious and you can tell that crafting new and exciting dishes is what makes the chef happy. The service is genuine and oozes appreciation. We can’t wait to come back with a cross for the wall!

This is a great option for Taco Tuesday with the $12 taco board and beer. The al pastor was excellent and the chipotle chicken was pleasantly more spicy than I expected. A taco board is 5 street tacos with one or two meat choices. This means is you choose two different meats you get 3 of one choice and two of the other choice.

I ate here on recommendation from a friend. It doesn’t look like much from the large free parking lot, but inside is cozy and very well made up and decorated. The food was very good as Xolo is not stingy on the important and expensive ingredients such as string cheese and meat. Good value and friendly service. I am definitely going back. Southside of Thunderbird on Cave Creek Road.

I had a great surprise when I entered the restaurant. It had a very festive vibe. I didn’t: no it was Karaoke night. The patrons were up singing their favorite Karaoke songs. It was all night happy hour. 5 street tacos for eleven dollars and a bear. The service was exceptional ordered fries no ketchup which was the only thing missing. Plenty of outdoor dining parking when weather permits. I was pleasantly pleased with this neighborhood restaurant.

Called the night before and made a reservation. Arrived the next day for our reservation. There was a stranger already seated at our reserved table. Red flag #1. After sorting that out, a waitress came to explain she was not our waitress but wanted to take our drink order because our waiter was busy. Red flag #2. After waiting for another 20 minutes, our waiter was nowhere to be found. (#3) The other waitress said our drinks were not ready. (#4) All the meanwhile, everyone coming into the restaurant were clearly part of a private event. We paid for the chips we ate and left. Upon leaving, a sign was posted at the front door that the restaurant was closed for a private event. Why was I allowed to make a reservation? I hope the manager reads this and can train their employees on the importance of quality service and not to double book reservations. Horrible experience.
