The food was delicious. We frequent Thai restaurants and this one would rank in the top 10% easy for us. The dishes were cooked beautifully. Spicy level was good. We enjoyed chicken satay, chicken lo mien (had a little spiciness to it), noodle soup, basil chicken stir fry and massaman curry. The dishes did come out one at a time over about 10 minutes rather than all at once. Restaurants seemed clean but definitely dated but food was good. I would definitely come here again butaybe just get it to-go. This would off set the price also. Most dishes are $15-20 a piece but portions were large.

We visited this Thai restaurant based on its strong reviews, but our experience was a bit underwhelming overall. That said, if you’re looking for a Thai food option in Rock Springs, it’s still worth considering—especially for a few standout items.

We started with the Crab Rangoon, which was solid and satisfying—crispy on the outside and creamy inside, just as you’d hope. My wife ordered the Pad Thai, and it was the highlight of the meal. It had great flavor and texture—she found it slightly on the sweet side, but I thought it was just right.

I chose the Yellow Curry with beef, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The curry lacked the rich, creamy texture I associate with coconut milk-based curries. We had read in another review that the restaurant may use regular milk instead of coconut milk, and based on the taste and consistency, that seemed likely. It made for a noticeably flatter and less flavorful dish.

If we return, we’d definitely reorder the Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon. I’d recommend asking ahead about the ingredients in the curry, particularly whether it’s made with coconut milk. If not, you might want to opt for something else on the menu.

In town passing through to Denver.
The outside looks sketchy and you may second guess going in due to few cars in the parking lot. However I would suggest you not pass up the opportunity.
The Pho is great. The fried dumplings are awesome and the orange chicken is superb.

My only complaint…… really about the world as well is the price. It’s going to cost more than McDonalds for a family of six.

We had the green curry chicken and basil chicken. Both were absolutely delicious. The ambience is lacking, but don’t let that keep you from dining here.

Everything was delicious. We were passing through this place and needed to eat and we loved it. My husband ordered the Mongolian beef and I ordered the basil beef and shrimp fried rice. Definitely worth going to eat here. We ordered take out. But we loved the food. Make sure to ask for utensils or chopsticks.

It’s very americanized and overly sweetened and saucy, and more of a chinese flavor to the dishes (even the pad see ew, which is a thai dish)

I think some spice and garlic would be a welcome addition to the dishes, not that they were bland but certainly lacked any discernable spice (even though it had a pepper sign next to the name)

We may be a bit spoiled from big city food, however. It did do the job. The white rice was good and fresh, and the service was nice and a quiet atmosphere inside the restaurant.

Had lunch with my work team. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We had chicken satay as an appetizer. For an entree I had a basil pork stir fry dish. Very satisfied with my meal and the value of will eat here again.

Not much to look at from the outside, but I’m glad I read the other reviews. We really loved the food, the service was friendly, and the choices were unexpectedly sophisticated and delicious. I did not expect Nua Ka Ting in Wyoming, and the beef came perfectly tender, spicy in proportion to the other flavors, and the fragrance of the fried basil was wonderful. We dug into all the dishes before I remembered to take a picture. The lettuce wrap was very tasty, and the sixth of a head of perfectly fresh iceberg lettuce made a wonderful wrapper for the tender chicken. The mango paradise was tasty, and the mango sticky rice was great. The sauce was warm, sweet, salty, and rich with coconut. It is a family run restaurant, so we did have to wait for some things, but it was well worth the wait.

I’m very excited that we finally decided to try Thai Chef 9!! Like someone said, the outside tends to discourage folks from going inside, but my goodness! It’s SO good.
I was a little confused with the menu as it lacks description, but I showed the hostess the picture that looked wonderful to me. It was #55 which says “potato “. So I ordered it with beef and fried rice. It was so good, it’s like a stew but with a great Thai flavor and hit the spot for me.
My husband had the Green Curry with the seafood combo. It was wonderful, and he said he’d definitely get it again. He did get a little tiny bowl of the Panang Curry to see what that tastes like, and we both loved the flavor. Next time, and yes, there will be a next time, we’ll try the Panang Curry with the seafood combo!!
The service was good, the restaurant is very clean and welcoming, the atmosphere is very quiet with no music or any radio. We could actually talk and hear one another.
Why haven’t we gone here before???
Thank you, Thai Chef 9, for the great food and service.
And also for allowing us to try a sample of your Panang Curry.
