Best things were the fries.
Nice view. Poor atmosphere. Not a smile to be found in the place. However service was relatively smooth. Sad really, as location and prices paid should generate positivity.
Based on what we spent on accommodation and combined meals you can do better than….
“Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with us… “
I suppose when they realize most visitors come once a year or once in their lifetime, management cant be too concerned about repeat business or opinions. Platitudes will suffice. Disappointing end to a nice stay. Third and last visit here.
Now, the only downside–no specialty coffee. That’s right, folks, no espresso, no lattes, just your basic drip coffee. But hey, caffeine is caffeine, right? As for the food, it was fantastic! I had one of the best avocado toasts of my life, with a beautifully semi-poached egg on top. My husband’s eggs Benedict? So good we almost had to battle it out for the last bite. I can see why people might complain about slow service, but we weren’t in a rush, so we just went with the flow. Overall, a great experience–just bring your own espresso from the lobby cafe if you’re picky about coffee!
I want to amend my service review from 3 to 4 stars as the service I received for breakfast was superb. Krystine went above and beyond with her serving. She was more than happy to refill my cup with coffee and without being asked gave my daughter an extra serving of cherries. Kystine brought a smile to my kids face and mine as well. The PNW omelet (modified due to my allergies) was excellent and so was the cinnamon roll pancake.
Nice view. recommend sitting outside and you can have a good view of sea and whiterock Vancouver
At 1:30 pm on a weekday, I was surprised we were only offered brunch selections. No problem. It was a limited menu, but really good food. Hint: the burger with an egg is indulgent but done very well.
There are no beers on tap at this time, but that is no big deal. They have a couple of local specialties in can. All the dark beers were unavailable. I prefer water while my partner prefers a nice IPA. We both liked our options.
The flies buzzing the dining area are a bit disconcerting at first but we were never bothered by them while at our table.
Our server, food, and view were perfect.
One of the few restaurants open a little later in the area. You’re paying for the views and less for the food. Usually very busy so would recommend calling ahead or making a reservation.
Salmon – decent size salmon. Slightly over cooked but well seasoned. Broccoli was light and scalloped potatoes were good.
Chowder – creamy and very filling. Generous with their chunks of seafood. Not too overwhelming fishy
Garlic fries – huge portion. Very garlicky and flavorful but the sauce made a lot of the fries soggy. Still would recommend.
