The worst experience I’ve ever had at a Tropical Smoothie. No greeting, finally ordered and one of team members sits down behind register scratching her head and on her phone. Place was filthy and she was on her phone. Food was handed to me with no thank you, have a nice day, nothing. After what I saw after ordering, I didn’t trust it and threw the food away. 0 Stars, do not recommend.

This place is BEYOND PATHETIC! I bought curbside because I have a child under the age of two that I didn’t want to have to get out of his car seat just to go grab one smoothie and then have to fight to get him back in the car. But instead I waited in my car for them to NEVER bring it out! PATHETIC!! It sat on the counter melting taste absolutely terrible. What terrible customer service you guys have. am writing to express serious concern regarding the repeated unprofessional behavior at the Short Pump Tropical Smoothie Café location.
On Saturday, December 6th around 11 AM, I witnessed what has unfortunately become a pattern at this store. The two female employees working at the time were on FaceTime calls with friends, loudly laughing, talking, and even screaming while customers were trying to order. Their attitudes toward guests were rude, dismissive, and unfriendly to every person who walked in.
This is not an isolated incident. I have visited this location multiple times, and the unprofessionalism is getting progressively worse.
Additionally, the young man who took my order appeared confused and unsure of basic procedures, which further slowed down the experience.
For a brand as reputable as Tropical Smoothie Café, this level of customer service is extremely concerning. Ownership and management should be very alarmed, as it reflects poorly on the entire franchise.
I hope immediate corrective action will be taken to address the lack of professionalism, customer service, and staff oversight. I enjoy Tropical Smoothie Café, but this location is becoming increasingly difficult to support.

This was not a great store. There was no toilet paper in the women’s restroom. None!
When we walked in the store was full of people waiting for their drinks. I’m not sure the workers knew how to do things. The store behind the counter was disgusting. There was a bunch of food and knives laying about.

Stopped in to grab a quick smoothie and had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to come greet me. There was someone else outside and people who could clearly see that I was in the main shop/counter area. The saving grace is that things are well priced and the flavor of the smoothie is good.

Service has always been very friendly at this location. As always great smoothies, Wraps, Quesadillas, Sandwiches, and salad. My favorite is Detox Island Green, it is not for everyone if you don’t like the greens. They seemed to be super busy, but everyone was calm and focused. Great team work. I didn’t have to wait too long for my order. It definitely helps to order ahead.

I would leave 1, but i left 3 stars because i reached out via email and was sent a free smoothie coupon for my troubles, but i still feel like i need to say for other customers before ordering here. Although the company made it right for me!
There was one person. didn’t acknowledge customers and didn’t seem to know what she was doing. I get the same smoothie every time and this was my first time ordering from this location bc we just moved to the area but my smoothie was so watery and icy and the protein powder was not blended in. It was really nasty.
But i love tropical smoothie at a good location, midlothian turnpike. ❤️

I came in today around lunch & there were 3 girls & a guy working. One of the girls, the one with the septum piercing (all three had the regular nose piercing) had THE worst attitude. She was yelling at the guy working the cash register, b/c he asked a question & continued to yell at him about other things as well as speak about him, to the other two girls, when he stepped in the kitchen. The other two girls were pleasant enough, but the other girl was absolutely foul. Another customer said she goes there often & said she is always like that. I told her I try not to ever go to that location b/c it’s always dirty & the customer service is always less than. She agreed. But I’ve never encountered someone in there as rude as the one today. She definitely should not be on the front line!

I have been to several Tropical Smoothie locations in the Richmond area and this one is probably the worst I have visited. We came in on Sunday afternoon and purchased a small chocolate mocha smoothie. The smoothie was pretty much like a shaved ice. There was not much liquid to drink. When I ordered, the guy taking the order said I couldn’t pay with a twenty dollar bill. So I used my credit card and it appeared a tip was imposed of either 10 or 15%. I shouldn’t have to tip someone for doing their job to just make a smoothie. I tried to decline the tip but the screen did not let me. I will never come back to this location. The man making the smoothie appeared to be angry at something and did use profanity. I do not want to hear profanity. I am really surprised that a business owner would allow that especially in a high end shopping area like Short Pump.

My last visit, I was paying attention to the staff making my order as the time before I got all the way home with my order to find both my sandwich and smoothie made wrong. (Chicken when I ordered turkey, flatbread instead of sandwich.) This time I witnessed several staff giggling about messing up orders, not knowing which smoothie is which after making, and whispering about not wanting to remake them, and just putting them on the to-go shelf area anyway. Staff moves incredibly slow, food is messily made, and I also saw an employee stop and text for a full 5 minutes right in front of all customers when there were SEVERAL people not only waiting for their order to be taken, but waiting on their food to be made. 0/10
