One thing that stood out was the staffing, it felt a little unusual. After the cashier left for the day(assuming bc she left in a car), we mostly just saw the team working on pizzas. There were two other employees around, but one was sitting at the bar with a laptop and the other at a table, only getting up when customers came in. It made things a little awkward when we needed to ask for to-go boxes.
As for the food, the chicken Alfredo had nice flavor but was a bit watery. On the other hand, the pizza was delicious!
The employee at the front was nice but when we asked for wine with our pasta, he let us know that he’s not allowed to serve wine, only beer, and there was no one in the restaurant who could serve wine or bartend. On Saturday night!
We then asked about this 15% off dine in promotion we saw on the stores Instagram story and Facebook page, he didn’t know anything about it and had no way to apply a 15% discount. But he found a way to save us some money anyways so it all evened out.
Then I got my chicken parm, where the parm was not on the chicken, but fine I ate it. And my girlfriend’s spaghetti and meatballs came out a good 7 minutes later after I asked about it. That’s also when we got our beers, one of which was expired but oh well we took it hahaha.
I guess there was no manager on the premises since there was no one available who was allowed to pour a glass of wine(pretty sure you legally have to have a manager on premise and someone TABC certified in order to serve….) so I hope he enjoyed his Saturday night off. The staff did their best to be accommodating and I don’t blame them at all, but the owners at Palio’s better find a new GM soon or this location doesn’t have a chance to make it out here.
What really stood out was the kindness of the people working there. It’s rare these days to find a place that’s not overly busy yet still goes above and beyond for their customers. We just wanted to take a moment to applaud them for being so friendly and caring. Thank you for making our night better! ❤️
We arrived a little after 9:00 PM (they close at 11:00), and the restaurant was completely empty except for one guy sitting at the bar. We stood at the entrance for a moment. No greeting… just a silent, unwelcoming stare from a girl who seemed annoyed we were even there. The guy got up from the bar and headed to the kitchen after we ordered.
We got baked ziti, shrimp alfredo, and a meatball sub. The food was disappointing. My “baked ziti” was just penne and sauce, not baked, no cheese. The sub looked thrown together, and the staff didn’t seem interested in us being there at all.
We finished our food quietly and left. No goodbye, no acknowledgment. Just silence.
After waiting an additional 20min, pizza order was incorrect. (Order half cheese/pep & whole beef. Not even close to the correct order) Attempted the get the female worker attention but she was to involved in her cell phone conversation. By far the worse customer service experience I’ve ever received.
Neither employee even attempted to fix the issue (female employee continue holding her cell phone and conversation) Male employee sweeping the floor and preparing pizza dough not wearing any gloves.
