Visited here with a group of six for their Wednesday night trivia — get’s pretty packed in there! Make sure to call ahead with a reservation. Their curly fries were great. The food and drinks (we got ciders) were surprisingly affordable. Guilt-free sipping.
Huge shoutout to the bartender, too. Our group won free shots for guessing the population of Christmas Island the closest. The bartender whipped up a spiked Arnold Palmer drink for 6 of us. Above and beyond!

The location has two variations of bar drinks and delicious food on one side and more intimate and sophisticated palette pleasing meals with light music on the other. The food is never a disappointment!! The wait staff are very friendly. Try to go on a weekday when there is less of a crowd. Overall good place to eat for both sides !!

We started with a Cesar salad and soup of the day before ordering their delicious 6pc buffalo wings which is also on the menu as an appetizer. Every dish was a delightful burst of flavors, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented, making each bite an unforgettable experience.
Gabe and Victor went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction, attentively catering to our needs and enhancing our overall dining experience. The exceptional service from the staff, combined with their genuine hospitality, will make you want to return just as much as the delicious food.
I would definitely recommend Christopher Martins Restaurant to anyone who is looking for great food and greater vibes!

If you are ever looking for a professional catering team to truly wow your event, look no further than Christopher Martins!! Brian & Chris and their team have been spoiling us with their tantalizing treats for 20 years now!! They have taken food to the next level creating a mouth watering delight in every bite!!! Our Hamden Hall Country Day school Parents Association and community are soo fortunate to have CM’s handle our every need for commencement each year!!! Lobster chive deviled eggs, Thai marinated steak skewers, shrimp & scallop ceviche tostada cups, prosciutto basil tomato provolone mini paninis, grilled eggplant & tomato napoleons, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and chicken mango profiteroles to name a few. The presentation of the cheese, fruit and vegetable crudités centerpiece is a real show stopper!!! Thank you Brian and thank you Chris for your continued creations!!! We truly love you guys!!!

Having spent six months living next door to this abomination of an institution, I can confidently say that New Haven, an already mediocre and unwelcoming city, needs to rid themselves of this cancer known as Christopher Martin’s Pub.
I find it genuinely comical that this bar promotes charity during the holidays, given the amount of distress they cause the neighborhood. Drunk bar-goers would take their bottles and toss them into the neighboring yard, which poses a danger for the people and pets who utilize that yard. Christopher Martin’s, unsurprisingly, takes no responsibility despite the yard being right outside their back door!
The owner, Brian Virtue, threatened to slash my tires and physically assault me for parking in front of his patio (which would not be an issue if the bar’s clientele did not take all of the residential parking spots). They blast music late into the night, despite NOBODY being outside on the patio because it is below freezing.
The space is unwelcoming and unfriendly to outsiders as well. Do yourself a favor and visit literally any other bar in East Rock. Don’t give this awful place your business.

Honestly can’t beat how delicious the burgers are, and for such a fair price..! We used to order from Prime 16, but Christopher Martins does burgers better. They seem to have a better handle of how to actually cook them right, so we have switched!
4/5 on atmosphere but only due to inside smelling strongly of beer (fair enough). Attaching a picture of the cajun fries – absolutely delicious. The onion rings are a little different (think “shoestring” onion rings) but very tasty

The food flavor wise was pretty good, drinks were fine, the prices were a bit silly. Stuffed Jalapeño appetizer has 2 small Jalapeños as an appetizer that is ridiculous especially for the price. Service was mediocre, server acted like she was pissed to be there and a bit rude from the start.

Super underrated pub in my opinion. The food is delicious and extremely well priced. I often come for trivia on Wednesday nights (now you have to book in advance) and then occasionally for an affordable, but delicious meal and a beer!

It’s a great bar with a wonderful ambiance! I love it, and their food is very yummy, especially the vegetarian burger with sweet potatoes. I highly recommend it. Even in winter, they have a romantic outside ambiance with a fire. Love it!
