First time here and it did not disappoint! Atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and helpful. Fresh bread and dipping oil was brought to our table after we were seated. Our meals were hot and delicious, and portions are large. Dessert was amazing. Prices were a little high but considering how exceptional everything was, I didn’t mind paying. Definitely worth the try and we will be returning.

If you are looking for a great atmosphere for Italian food, and best service any restaurant can offer, look no further! I went to multiple locations and it tastes great every time. I recommend the stuffed beef and rice appetizer.

This was our first time here. The food was excellent. We started with the aracini. We had the veal parmesan and the shrimp and lobster scampi. Both were excellent. We finished with the espresso creme bruelee.

The service was surprisingly non existent. Drinks were empty and it felt like we were a bother to her conversations with other coworkers. We would give this place another tried because of the food. Hopefully the service will be better next time.

I’m very disappointed with my check. Last Sunday I took my wife, my son and his sweetheart for lunch to Il Pizzaiolo, right here in the Fox Chapel Area. My wife is the real fan of this place. She told me one of her friend told her about a surcharge for using Credit Cards. When I ordered the check, as a fact, there was a $6.90 surcharge for our meal. For those of you not knowing it, one of the operative cost, included when calculating the sale price for a plate in any, ANY RESTAURANT, in the USA is a percentage for using credit cars. So, from the very beginning the restaurant has already compensated for the customer using credit card, so why the double dipping into my pocket for using a credit card??? You are about to loose a whole family as one of your customers because of this. This is a rip off. Your food is great, your staff excel in service, but this, even a $6.90 surcharge, it’s not acceptable and legal. Even with this, I left a tip of $50.00, because this was not the server fault.

Outstanding meal at lL Pizzaiolo. The service was fantastic! The portions are very large, so come with an appetite. The homemade bread was outstanding! The experience at the restaurant is excellent and the atmosphere is calming and relaxing. The appetizers, a fried zucchini and the roasted red peppers and tomatoes were a little underwhelming and not quite as flavorful as I would have expected for the price. When it comes to the pasta, it is all made in house, light, fluffy and prepared as it should be! The lasagna was delicious, however, I felt it maybe could have used a little more red sauce. Large portions at a reasonable price! Highly recommended the Vestigo Montepulciano wine to accompany the food! Delicious! The lemon blueberry cheesecake was outstanding! I highly recommend trying this!

Horrible experience. We arrived at 2:15. Placed our order at 2:30. Food did not arrive until 4:15. The waitress never once came to our table to explain the delay. When I approached the manager about the delay in receiving our food, he said that they were busy. He did not seem at all concerned. When the food finally arrived, it was under cooked and cold. We paid the full bill plus a tip. They did give us a $75 gift certificate which was not close to what we paid for bad meals and horrible service

Beautiful decor, nice service, good food, but a bit pricey.

Tried the following:
– meatballs — juicy and tasty
– Salsiccia pizza — dough tasted ok, but not very airy. Basically it only has sausage on it. Added olives and caramelized onions and that made a big improvement.

Food came out quickly, and the service was very attentive.

Pizza price is pricey ($25) for having only one topping, and getting charged additional $4 for adding onions and olives was a bit much.

It’s a nice place with a nice patio, and the food is pretty good. Would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

WOW the first Italian restaurant we experienced in the Pittsburgh area that was clean, inviting, and had authentic food. We started with some drinks, their espresso martini is good. I can’t say enough about Sean who was our bartender and server. A huge shoutout to Sean, the nicest person who accommodated my confusing requests.
We decided to sample a plethora of dishes. We started with the arancini which was good, the Neapolitan was better than the Sicilian style (la mia famiglia è napoletana). We also ordered the Escarole, Beans, & Sausage which was very good. We have difficulties getting escarole where we are from so this was a nice treat for us.
I was ecstatic that I was able to get fried pizza and Sean was so awesome about my order because I wanted it like when I was a child in Italy.
Along with the fried pizza, I ordered the Pappardelle alla Funghi and my husband ordered the Veal Parmigiano. Both were delicious but the pappardelle was better than the veal but that’s just our opinion. For dessert we had the tiramisu which we found to be the best we had in the area. Now the espresso, definitely very good. Overall, the was the BEST Italian we have experienced in the area. We wish we had found it the first week we were here but at least we found it! Thank you il Pizzaiolo for a wonderful dinner and the plethora of leftovers that I get to nosh on. Also Thank you Sean for making our evening enjoyable!

Undeniably, the best lamb chops I’ve ever had. Although I have had many other dishes that were superb, like pasta, pizza, etc. I keep returning for the 8 tasty lamb chops and always have a delicious meal. I dream about returning for more!
