I stopped at Harper’s a few weeks ago, just to see what they had. I bought a doughnut and a danish. Both very good. I stopped again last weekend and this time bought a loaf of their sourdough bread. Wow!! I went back yesterday and bought another loaf. But do not wait. Today? No sourdough so went back to their jelly doughnut and a cheese danish.
This place isn’t a “hidden gem”, because it’s right there on Main St. But definitely a gem.

We love this bakery! It’s a hidden gem in Hackettstown with some of the best pastries I’ve ever had! We’ve had them do multiple cakes for events and they’ve coming out amazing. Just recently we had my son’s first birthday which was a car theme and they made us cupcakes that came out so good!! Highly recommend them for events or even just a delicious danish!

This place is a hidden gem. Needed rolls one day and happened to be driving past. The bread, pastries and donuts are excellent. Well beyond expectations. The owner is very friendly and pleasant. There’s a nice little cafe type sitting area. The coffee, baked goods and atmosphere are great. This place is a must. You won’t be disappointed

The jelly donuts are so delicious here great for any party the quality is far beyond any I had before looking for that hidden gem well you found it here the French rolls here are so fresh and the cookies here just melt in your mouth you have to try it your self

We went for some French rolls, we have been visiting this place for more than 20 years, but surprise surprise the rolls are small not the way that used to be, not fair, make two listings, one for small and another for the regular size, I do t mind to pay more, better than get a small bread, very disappointed. Go here empty handed and walk out with more action than you ever imagined in a box or bag. The quality is outstanding! So much so we’ve done comparisons with Morris County bakeries (with residents of Morris County, faithful to their favorite bakeries) and the results are in: Harper’s makes better stuff and you won’t go broke being their customer. This place is an absolute gem that is cherished by anyone who’s been there and knows quality. Bill and daughter Melissa run the place and are more than accomodating to phoned-in, custom orders. Their rolls and breads are top notch and disappear off our table faster than a spilled beverage. I cannot say enough about the jelly donuts, apple turnovers, and danishes either. The variety is always a surprise and they make seasonal items that get you pumped for any holiday. Being a deadbeat stops today. Tomorrow, change the way your family looks at you. Go to Harper’s and bring home their items. I guarantee you will get more Christmas gifts this year than you usually do.
