Always great food, smiling faces, you can watch the love that the locals have for this place. It’s a really country kitchen feeling. Will continue to bring my crew here whenever we’re in Metairie (metry bruh).
Big variety of food and flavor in every bite!

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I’ll go months at a time where I eat here a couple of times a week. So much so, that I am on a first name basis with a lot of the staff.

I haven’t ever had anything bad to eat here. I know they are known for their tamales, but you can never go wrong with the lunch special of the day, a po-boy or the fried chicken. Great food, great staff & a great place for the locals to get fed quickly.

I come here often and they never disappoint. The staff are extremely friendly and engaging. They know me by name and order most days lol. I highly recommend them if you’re in the neighborhood and just want some good comfort food.

I’ve been back and had the fried shrimp poboy and ham and cheese poboy. Both were delicious. I guess just stay away from the tacos…

I want to love this neighborhood deli/food mart/hole in the wall because I’m doing a project in the area and keep passing it. I got the 3 taco and 3 tamale special. The tacos were fair to poor and for a place with tamales in the name, I was disappointed. They are average at best. However, I will definitely come back and try other items such as their nice looking poboy selection. On a positive note, the ice cold bottle of Barq’s was delicious.

Their hot plates and chicken were good in the past. So gave them a shot at a 3 meat 50 count sandwich tray. For almost $1 a sandwich, these sandwiches have barley any meat. And most of the meat is sliced thick. Very disappointed with these sad sandwiches order for late pickup and received at 4 pm on January 12th. Not like it could be a super Busy day in the kitchen as an excuse for such sad performance.

OH MY GOD, I normally don’t do deliveries but I took a chance and I’m happy I did. THIS WAS SOOOOOO GOOD and seasoned to perfection. I ordered the pork chop plate, tamales, and seafood platter, It should be against the law to make food this good. Will be ordering again.

Ordered a large roast beef and Swiss po-boy… A special request to ensure that Swiss cheese was melted. The cashier was quick to point out that the Swiss cheese will melt when it hits the hot roast beef gravy. Ok…

The po-boy ended up being served to my table without Swiss cheese. By the time I noticed it and returned to them and they corrected the error, The Swiss cheese slices did not melt because it was placed on top of the cold tomato that was on top of the gravy and beef and also because the hot roast beef gravy is no longer hot. Only warm. And Swiss cheese slices do not tend to melt when hanging outside the sandwich.

Ugh. Minus one star.

But, hey! The po-boy was delicious!
