Yes I highly recommend this place for “Pozole.” Thank you so much for this amazing soup helps when feeling unwell or under the weather, during fall, and it’s seasoned just right. I am truly amazed I will be making the drive from Mid City to try other entrees. The pictures don’t do its justice of fantastic flavors.

This was my first time at this great little restaurant, but it won’t be my last. I started with a Dos XX and was pleasantly surprised when it was accompanied by an ice cold mug. The steak and shrimp fajitas came out sizzling mixed with onions and peppers. The homemade corn tortillas were delicious also. The bonus of it all was the great service!

So I will be very honest. I found this place by accident but glad I did. I got there right around 11am and was greeted immediately. I was sat down quickly. I ordered the enchilada plate with white sauce, ground beef and side of rice and beans. I am from Texas so this in no way touches the flavors of my hometown but it was very homemade and delicious.
The charro beans were delicious. The rice was plain but just the right amount of seasoning to get away with a satisfied taste.
Over all the parking was easy, the staff was wonderful, the bathroom was very clean and the food overall was good for being here in NOLA.
If you want small cozy atmosphere with Mexican vibes …this is the small spot.

Had a good experience dining at La Providencia. It was recommended by a friend of ours and we enjoyed the food. The tacos were delicious. The chimichanga plate was great and flavorful. The pozole came out super hot and it was very good. Was a little spicy, but had good taste. Restaurant is clean and well kept. Good service. Would definitely go back to try other dishes.

The salsa temperature was warm. Slightly spicy and lightly salted with a smooth consistency. The chips were light.
The queso was more like a bechemel. Still decent.
The shrimp ceviche was very herbal with cilantro etc and properly salted.
The shrimp taco was very good.
The guacamole was standard fare.
The plantains were fresh and good but the caseque (sp?) was runny blah.

They falsely advertise their plates. When you see a meal with 3 tacos your expectation is to receive 3 tacos. I only received one and then I was forced to pay for the other 2 tacos again! Poor service girl on the phone has nasty attitude! 1 out of 10 for my entire experience.

Nachos were perfect, almost a meal by themselves. I was sharing a large nacho order.The dessert flan was smooth and heavenly. Pupusas were great! Sopes were well made and generous toppings. No complaints at all. Waiter and waitress were both very helpful, answered any questions and very attentive. Have gone twice, will return soon.
