THE BEST Italian food I’ve had in Charleston. First you walk through this gorgeous old timey alleyway that makes you feel like you’ve escaped to Europe. Then you get inside and it’s a beautiful building filled with history and a gorgeous staircase. We did the restraint week menu + an entree and it was affordable and plenty of food. Nonna’s Sunday cause was so rich and savory, like a warm hug. And the chicken picatta was very light and so flavorful but also more rich than most. Bruschetta ofc for an app and normally cheesecake isn’t my thing but theirs was mouthwatering. If you’re on the fence just book the reservation!! Staff was so kind and apologetic with the busy restaurant week crowd and made it so worth it

We booked a reservation on open door which had 4.5 stars with lots of reviews , but Google has low score with reviews that were all over the place so we took a chance and I am GLAD we did! The service was wonderful! They were quick and efficient. The food was wonderful. Cheese tortellini was wonderful! Bruschetta was so good equal amount of balsamic vinegar with the goat cheese tomatoes Yum. My husband got the Nonna‘s Sunday pasta dish with all kinds of meat and he says the meat was tender. The sauce was delicious and perfect. I forgot to get photos of the main dishes since we started eating right away! Highly recommend this place!

The place was great, the service was excellent, the hospitality as a whole was amazing but good lord was the food terrible before coming, I saw pictures of the food and was turned off but I figured I would still give it a try… it didn’t fulfill.. I’ve been a chef of 10 years and never have I see a chicken pesto that looks like oily unseasoned roadkill served on a plate my girlfriend got the chicken piccata and it was pretty alright nothing to get excited about. Hers was a little underseasoned as well

Decided on this for my birthday dinner with friends. One of my friends easily made a reservation and the restaurant called an hour before to ensure we were still coming. The food is delicious! Legit Italian-American with high quality ingredients and attention to detail. The pepperoncini sauce that comes with the calamari is heavenly and the Sunday gravy feels like you just walked into a family dinner. Everything was fantastic, but very filling so definitely come hungry – though they will package any leftovers up for you to take home. All four of us were very satisfied.

Good service. Knowledge staff were relaxed and friendly. My seafood linguine was ok. Lots of meat, but the crab tasted off. Maybe frozen? Everyone else loved there dishes. Porkchop, filet both great. Our table was in the middle of the room. Not much space and it got a little too loud at times to talk.

The branzino with roasted fingerling potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts was delicious as was Nonna’s pasta with pork and sausage. All portions are HUGE. We could have easily shared a dish. Our server was very informative, friendly, and attentive.

Classic Italian fare done exceptionally well. Started with the Caprese and Italian salad…both fresh and delish. Server was personable and friendly. Had the spaghetti and meatballs while my friend enjoyed the branzino and they were both flavorful and authentic. Would return!

Jamie was so kind and attentive! I got the sun dried tomato ravioli and my husband got the chicken parmigiana, both dishes were DIVINE. such a hidden gem in downtown Charleston with an authentic Italian atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

We arrived with a party of 6 . We sat up stairs in the overflow. Server finally came with waters . Took our drink orders . Received 4 of 6 drinks then waited 20 minutes to get the other two non alcaholic drinks. Not to mention she did not return to refill the waters in between. Then the same thing happened with the food ! By the time the food arrived everyone was already done . The server definitely didn’t know what she was doing. The food was underwhelming very saucy and with bland taste . Asked for a mod with the meal she informed us she can’t communicate with the kitchen staff bc she’s doesn’t speak Spanish . It’s my second time going here first time wasn’t much better . Understand it’s sewe but the gm should have been staffed and ready to go . Going to search elsewhere for Italian next time .

Wonderful experience. Came in late on a Tuesday and had a delicious plate of Nonna’s Sunday Gravy. Our server, Anthony, gave us excellent service and recommendations. The manager, Jose, stopped by and we had a great chat about our time in Charleston.
