Puppers Policetti
Wanted to try out this restaurant so I stopped by for lunch the other day. The interior was neat and tidy with 8 tables with 4 chairs each. Put a takeout order for a classic chicken shawarma, fries, and plov. The service was good with just a tad bit of a language barrier, but not a big deal. After a 15 minute wait, I was handed my order and I headed home very excited because the food smelled amazing. The chicken shawarma was excellent. Filled to the brim with tender, juicy chicken and saturated with this unique flavorful sauce with a hint of sweetness and a nice crunch to some of the bites from the cucumbers (I think?). The fries were fantastic. Thick and crispy with a nice batter to them. The plov came with some nice pickled cabbage, not unlike kimchi but without the intense garlic and fish sauce flavor. The plov was amazing. Perfectly cooked rice with chicken peas, peppers and tender chunks of lamb bedded beneath the rice. Overall, this was a fantastic culinary experience and I will be returning. With food like this, it’s no wonder how a unified confederation of Nomadic Steppe Tribes assembled under the great Khans were able to conquer the land from Korea to Hungary. They were powered by delicious food such as this. Cheers!

This was my first shawarma experience in Chicago, and it truly exceeded expectations. Every bite felt like a taste of home rich, flavorful, juicy, and incredibly satisfying.
The staff were exceptionally welcoming, especially Ayana at the register She guided us through the menu with ease, and her recommendations were spot-on ️
Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for authentic flavor and great service

I love this place, I come here every week, the shawarma is incredibly delicious, you don’t have to wait long, the girl behind the counter named Suymkan is very nice and knows how to communicate with people. We tried many types of shawarma here, and the baked shawarma is the best, and the samsa is also very tasty.

I’ve been living in this neighborhood for five years and somehow never noticed this place—until I started craving a shawarma wrap. I ordered the beef baked shawarma wrap, and it was absolutely delicious. First of all, it was massive! The beef was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and packed with amazing spices. My mom ordered the chicken baked shawarma wrap and loved hers just as much. I’ll definitely be back to try the other varieties they offer.

I decided to change my opinion about this place. Yesterday I bought a mixed baked shawarma. I’ve been in the bathroom all night and even now. Be careful. I will not buy anything from them anymore.

Food was good, I recommend baked wrap with beef, but I was waiting 40min to get one shawarma. Fastfood is supposed to be ready in short time. Service was okay, employees didn’t clean up our table, we did it by ourselves with tissues. Atmosphere is very bad, everyone is walking in and out like in grocery market.
