I am Pakistani and have eaten this food all of my life. This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path place but deserves lots of praise. We ordered the BBQ platter for 4 and were very satisfied with all the flavors and tenderness of the meat. This time we ordered takeout but would gladly eat in. They have a pool table at the back which is a fun addition you don’t normally find in these sorts of restaurants.

This is a down to earth casual eatery for comfort Pakistani food and chats. Highly recommend the BBQ platter ample for two, fresh flavourful and spicy with fluffy naan. The meat is halal.

We had a great time at Usmania! The staff was very attentive and the service was quick even though they made our bbq platter fresh!
We ordered the bbq platter for 2, chicken biryani, mango lassi, and sweet lassi! Both lassis tasted amazing best for a hot day! The platter was so delicious highly recommended and biryani was good too best part it was boneless!
I would definitely return to this place!!!

Food was good and service was decent. Naans were fresh and chicken tikka was amazing. Nihari was 7/10 as well. Overall good food.

Came here after reading the review, and somehow I had usmania restaurant (karachi) in mind when it came to flavors, but it was a disappointment. The food really was just “ok.” Mostly bland and not even close to what it tastes like back home in pakistan (if you’re really a foodie and know the local taste).
The naan however were good, and the tea. So 10/10 for Naan and the karak chai. Probably the best karrak chai I’ve had here so far.
Spring rolls were really a bite size, was not expecting that small. The food was mostly bland.

This update reflects a more mixed experience. I placed a takeout order and was told it would be ready after a long wait. When I arrived at the restaurant, I ended up waiting an additional thirty minutes before receiving the food. While the food itself was good, the overall process was frustrating. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt since it was Christmas Day and the place was clearly busy.
We did not dine in, and the seating available appeared very limited. It did not feel like a comfortable environment to bring family and wait for an extended period of time. Expectations were higher since the order was placed well in advance over the phone, and I was initially told the food would be ready shortly after arrival, which was not the case.
That said, the food quality was solid. Everything was warm and fresh. The barbecue platter stood out as very good, while the chana were just average and not particularly memorable.
Overall, the food itself was enjoyable, but the long delays and lack of coordination on takeout timing made the experience disappointing. If service and timing improve in the future, I would be open to updating this review.

The BBQ platter was great. The Nihari was not so great because the beef was hard. Also the nihari should be served in wider bowls to make it easier to serve. The ambience is good, clean facilities suitable for families with kids. We had a good time.
