Punjab Kabab is a great spot for authentic Pakistani flavors. Their halwa puri is fresh, flavorful, and served just the way it should be — soft puris, tasty chana, and sweet halwa that hits the right balance. The nihari is also excellent, rich in flavor with tender meat and the right amount of spice. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re craving traditional desi breakfast or comfort food.

The definition of a hole in the wall that’s so hidden you don’t want anyone to know about it. Probably the entire areas best kept secret. Absolutely loved every morsel of authentic Pakistani food we had including the biriyani. However the keema naan and homemade paneer with palak was lights out. Excited to try this again and it’s so close to BWI that it’s easy to get to before or after a flight esp if you travel a lot like I do for work- a home cooked halal Pakistani meal like your mom makes is just what you need. Zero ambiance but 100% delicious.

I’ve ordered from this place countless times—it never disappoints. The quality and taste always hit the mark. Recently, I catered for 60 people and had plenty of chicken tikka masala sauce left over, so I used it as a pasta sauce. Chef’s kiss! I couldn’t let such a delicious sauce go to waste.

Over and over, I have found the best place for delicious desi food is not your high-end Indian restaurants that are not catered to the desi diaspora instead, the best places are hole in the wall, Pakistani/Desi restaurants, where the service is counter, but the food is out of this world delicious.

Baltimore was nowhere on our horizon. We were headed to Boston. Baltimore was only a quick 30 min stop to unload passengers on our flight and load new passengers, but that quick stop ended up being more than a 6-hour saga, and our flight ended up being canceled. We had to scramble to find a hotel and a place to eat. We wanted comfort. We enjoy delicious desi food, so we were delighted our search led to Punjab Kabab and Sweets.

As I mentioned, the place is a hole in the wall, but the food is delicious. Everything from Palak Paneer to Goat Biryani to Chicken Tikka platter to Chicken Korma was delicious. The Kheer was the highlight of our dinner. Everyone loved it so much. Also, the gentleman at the counter is so hospitable. He took such good care of us. We are leaving the restaurant with happy hearts and happy tummies. Recommend

I was driving back from Baltimore to the Fredericksburg, VA area on a weekday and was really interested in enjoying some Pakistani food (not Indian, nor Persian, and definitely not Afghan) – I searched and saw there were lots of reviews (hundreds) on social media for this place, so I stopped in. It’s not too far off the highway, so it was easy to get to.

The inside was really dingey and rundown (but don’t let this bother you, you’re there for the food!) and there was a laminated menu on the counter to look at… The couple that runs it was there and the guy was friendly and helpful. I was in the mood for karahi, but I was by myself and typically restaurants make this for two people, so he suggested I get chicken curry.

It took about 10 mins to make. First thing I did was taste the broth (the curry sauce) and it was spot on – AMAZING!!! Then I ripped into the naan and took to ripping chicken of the bone and enjoying… I scarfed that dish down in no time, and there was quite a bit there! The basmati that came with it was very tasty! And he brought me a ramakin of yogurt chutney (this is how chutney is supposed to be!) – it was fresh and soothed the spice of the dish. Regarding the spice level, he asked how I wanted it and I told him I was Pakistani to make it for me the same way he’d eat it and they got is right!

Naan was excellent! Perfectly cooked, but the dough was great! Nice texture and flavor to it!

Overall – I enjoyed my lunch and would come back! Definitely a place that sells all the typical kabobs, but don’t sleep on their curries!!

I’ve been eating here for quite a few years now and decided it was about time to update my review from a few years ago. The food is spectacular, I’ve tried a lot of things on the menu and none of it has ever disappointed. My personal favorite items are the butterchicken and Naan but recently the Karahi gosht has grown on me. The owner is also super nice which is always a plus

10/10 Definitely recommend.

Visited this place on a friend’s recommendation for Authentic halva poori breakfast. Fellas, the halva poori was “gooooooooooood”- the chanay were super awesome. Halva was good too – reminded me about good times in Lahore. Well, if you happen to be in town, look no further, and enjoy the delicious halva poorees here with pink kashmiri chaey, visit them today.

The biriyani and naans here are really good! Also the kebabs are tasty. Most of the items we had tasted authentic. It’s a small place that hasn’t seen much upkeep, so definitely take-out even after the pandemic is behind us. Will be back to try other items on the menu for sure.
Update: nothing has changed. Food is always great. We keep going back every few weeks. To pick a few things, spiciness of the lamb biriyani is never mild enough for the little ones even after requesting. Channa dish is part of our order always, but it’s quite oily often.

The food is really great, but it’s not a well run business.
The giant phone number on the front doesn’t work. They do breakfast for the first few hours, but it’s not on the menu, and they give you a hard time if you try to order anything else.
The seating area is very basic and not particularly clean or well-kept.

Food was ok. I had the lentils with rice. Service was great. They were nice. Just need to clean the restaurant in my opinion. The rice was good. The area where they cook, look like they never clean it. That’s not good. That’s unsanitary. The lentils taste good with the rice.
