We stopped on NY Day. As soon as we stepped in the bartender greeted us. Our drinks were excellent and getting a frosty pint glass for my beer was great. The hostess was very patient with our group after we asked for a different table because of an infant. Our waitress was great…very friendly, and always came back to check on us even as the pub & grille began busy. The pizza was excellent! In my opinion the best in the northwoods. I highly recommend the Black Forest. 5 stars all around.

This was the first time my wife and I dined here, and we were glad that we did. I started with a Black Berry Old Fashioneds that was excellent. They had many drink options including some German beers. They (even) served complementary cheese and crackers with our drinks. I had the Gorgonzola Steak Pasta and my wife had their daily special, Hungarian Goulash, the portions were large, reasonably priced, and both were delicious! Everyone working here was polite, friendly, and additionally our server was very attentive. We even finished our meal sharing a lava cake dessert (it was Valentines Day after all)! We live about 30 miles away, but we will be returning for future visits, and bringing some friends and family with us.

Outstanding. Some of the most outstanding hospitality we’ve experienced in the Northwoods. Black Forest Pub & Grille was a real treat tonight. From the engaging conversation with Collin and Mike at the historic Bar to the vivacious charm of our server Kat – our food and dining experience far surpassed our expectations. My seared Salmon was perfect and the handmade fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp was buttery and creamy. Make the drive as soon as you can, you’ll be glad you did. Ask for Mike & Kat to enjoy their enthusiasm and Northwoods hospitality.

If you like pizza, this is excellent pizza. They utilize a homemade crust that is wonderful, and all of the ingredients are beautifully mixed to attain a flavor that is genuinely different from most pizza places. We have been all around the Northwoods sampling pizza for years, and the Black Forest bar and Grill in three lakes has become our go to pizza place. The vegetarian pizza is incredible. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. In addition, the prices are very fair for the quality that this restaurant puts out.

Schnitzel and special of the evening was quite delicious. Good wine selection, old German world and supper club atmosphere with dark timbers and white panels, large dining area, wait staff and owner Shena were wonderful. Definitely recommended this place for an authentic German experience.

This is the second time we’ve been here while staying for a long weekend in Eagle River. We really enjoy the breakfast menu on the weekend! The staffing seems a little light as the service was a little slow for our family with young kids, but it’s certainly not for lack of effort on the wait staffs’ part.
The breakfast food is hearty and there’s a good deal of variety without the menu being overwhelmingly large. The German-themed potatoes are excellent! We’ll certainly be back again with family!

We had the best meal from start to finish. The building is beautiful, the staff was so friendly and attentive, and the food was cooked to perfection! We highly recommend Black Forest Pub!

Ok. Yes a beautiful building. A last minute stop in for dinner expecting some German fare. Instead we find tired old American selections and pizza. Food was poor. If your gonna push the Black Forest vibe, please trash your current menu. Classic German would be great, but perhaps even some modern German fusion items. I want you to succeed. I want to come back, but tonight you were totally understaffed and they clearly lacked proper training. That being said…where was the owner? I sincerely hope you get it right and you become a gem for Three Lakes.
