Usually I’m a fan of this place, but I won’t be returning. I ordered a to-go captain boil bag and came home to inadequate food. I barely got shrimp in my bag and some of them were mushy when I went to bite in them. My crab legs and shrimp had black marks on them, making it look unappealing to eat. And the crab legs were very salty. I called to speak with the manager and he told me that he cannot give me a refund because I didn’t check my bag and apparently there’s a sign with this rule on it. But how am I suppose to know the taste/quality of my food? Am I suppose to open my bag up right then and there? I understand if you had regular fried foods in a tray but this is seafood doused with sauce in a bag? I would expect for the kitchen to give you their best food. I drove all the way home in traffic to basically find out that I can’t eat my food. Once again I really LIKED this place, but they will not be getting my money again. $60 literally down the drain.

I was in the mood for some good seafood and this was the place to quench that craving. We were met with smiley faces and warm welcome. We were seated right away and our waitress was friendly and super accommodating. The shrimp tacos are a must try and I highly recommend the bayou broil. It was so delicious. This is a great seafood spot.

A Flavor-Packed First Seafood Boil Experience!
This was my very first time trying a seafood boil, and wow, King Claw Juicy Seafood & Bar absolutely delivered! The sauce was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the seafood, which was cooked to perfection (and trust me, I’m picky when it comes to seafood!). Every bite was seasoned just right, making it a truly memorable meal.
We finished off with cheesecake and fresh beignets…both were devoured down to the last crumb. Sweet, indulgent, and the perfect ending.
Service was top-notch. Robyn our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The restaurant itself is spotless and well-maintained, which added to the overall great vibe.
We were so caught up in enjoying the food that I forgot to snap any pictures, but that just means I have to come back next time I’m in Charleston. Highly recommend!

Robyn was the BEST server we have experienced since being in Charleston. She was funny, friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. The food was exceptional and better than expected. Definitely would recommend. I got an order of friend calamari for appetizer, then I got the captains boil, my girlfriend got the bayou boil, and our friend got the king claw boil, plus some banging drinks!!

Visited here for a family dinner and again for Friendsgiving; amazing experience! Trice was our server both times and is always personable, attentive, and gives great recommendations on the menu. As someone who is plant based I was excited to see the Cajun edamame, and it quickly became a table favorite once I shared. It’s a great deal at only $5! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Farha was my waitress and she was exceptional! Aside from that, this was hands down the best seafood boil I’ve had. I am already thinking about when I can go again! Everything was cooked well and flavored well. The lobster tail was the best cooked lobster tail I ever had!

Unfortunately, while the service was outstanding, the food itself was subpar. Other than the sausage, which was enjoyable, the rest of the dishes lacked flavor and tasted as though they were rushed.

We only tried fried foods (starters), but many people get juicy seafood. Our food was ok. Portions are big so I had to take it to go. I wanted to get gator bites there. I wasn’t awfully impressed, they were a little bit too chewy. I tried some in FL and I liked it more than at King Claw. I also got fried calamari and oysters. They were fine. The atmosphere was great, I liked the decor, our waiter was nice and helpful.

I came in and ordered take out. The service itself was great. When I got back to work to eat, The boil was AWFUL and OLD, talk about Mad The shrimp was mushy. The crab legs shell was soft. Can’t get no meat out. The eggs taste funny the sausage was just salty. My food came out really fast, and it was probably somebody order they never got picked up. Old old old not fresh at all. I spent $86 on some old seafood. I am disappointed because if I was dining in ain’t no way they would serve that. If I could leave work I would have bring it back.

Absolutely great place. The inside is well spaced with plenty of benches in the lobby. Decorated great with fish on the wall and all sorts of neat stuff. The food was on point and the service was fantastic. Our server was Farha and she was amazing – ask for her and you’ll be taken care of for sure! We were told a 5 minute wait and it was exactly that. The booth was roomy and everything came out quickly. A+++
