The portions are very generous! I tried the fried rice — absolutely delicious — and the honey lemon chicken, which was perfectly sweet, tangy, and crispy. Really loved it! Excellent service as well.

Tropika is an absolute gem in Edmonton. From the moment you walk in, the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Genuinely kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful. You can tell they really care about the experience they’re giving you.

The food is next level… Every dish I’ve tried is seriously incredible. I can taste the passion in the food

GO TO ORDER: Roti, beef and chicken skewers with peanut sauce, Thai style vegetables and Singapore noodles

If you’re looking for amazing Malaysian food paired with outstanding service, Tropika is a MUST. Easily one of my favourite spots in Edmonton and a place I’ll keep coming back to.

Ordered three items the roti and Singapore noodles were both really good, flavorful and satisfying. Unfortunately, the fried rice with basil was a letdown it lacked flavor and didn’t have much taste at all. Service was okay, nothing special but not bad either.

Delicious food and beautiful presentation! The pineapple fried rice was flavorful and served right inside a fresh pineapple. Great portions and friendly service. Highly recommend!

What a great place for Malaysian food. We have passed this location many times and we finally visited the restaurant for an early supper. We were greated right away and seated quickly. The restaurant was well decorated and the staff friendly and accommodating. We were served drinks and leisurely reviewed the menu. Wow what choices!!
We all chose 4 main dishes and added calamari to start and coconut rice to accompany our mains.
We ordered lemon chicken, eggplant dish, noodles, and ribs.
We didn’t have to wait too long and our food was delivered by a cat robot. So cute and funny!!!
I would totally go again to taste the soup as it looked so yummy!! We were all stuffed as the dishes were perfectly sized for 4 people.
Excellent choice for supper!

I hadn’t been here for 15+ years. Wow it was changed. The decor was definitely more modern… complete with serving robot.

The food was fantastic. We stayed with beef and chicken stays with peanut sauce. Tender meat, yummy sauce. My wife and I both preferred the chicken. We also had the calamari. It came out fast and tided us over.

The mains were Singapore Laksa with mixed veg and Sayer Lamak hot pot. Both were very good but the coconut broth in the hot pot dish was phenomenol. Highly recommended.

Solid place to get Malaysian food! The food is absolutely delicious and I don’t find it to be too pricey- the portions are pretty decent. It takes a little while for them to cook, but the wait is definitely worth it! I would recommend one of their signature curries and the pineapple fried rice!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit left me feeling cheated. The food was far from authentic Malaysian or Thai cuisine. The lamb dish used cheap cuts full of skin and clearly wasn’t prepped properly.
The biggest disappointment was the so-called Tom Kha. It was thin, sour, and watery, with none of the gentle sweetness or creamy coconut depth that defines an authentic Tom Kha. It felt like a cheap Tom Yum in disguise, as if the same base were used for both soups, which is simply wrong. Any Thai person told this was Tom Kha would feel insulted.
The noodle plate was average and the eggplant dish acceptable. Nothing stood out, nothing tasted authentic. Having lived in both Malaysia and Thailand, I can confidently say this was not representative of either cuisine. Whoever was cooking tonight served what felt like rushed fast food, not the vibrant flavors these cultures are known for.
The overall experience was horrifying to say the least. A big disappointment and not a place I can recommend. What a shame!

Food portions are really good. Loved the thai tea. Cold and hot both are awesome… We ordered too many mains that we couldn’t try the mango sticky rice. The crispy pork was the most tasty dish. Service is really outstanding. They served me the dessert with a candle when they came to know it was my birthday (wasn’t expecting or wanting anything of course!!!)
A really good choice of visiting the place. Will drop in again someday to try mango sticky rice for sure…

Amazing selection of meat and sea food dishes perfectly assembled for the discerning foodie. Blends or aromatic seasoning and spices is to die for. I’m N.E. of my fav spots to hit up when I’m in Edmonton. Although I typically order the r same 6-7 dishes, once in a while Inwill venture off and try something new. Invariably, to my surprise (or not surprise) it’s another hidden gem on the menu.
