I look for the best places to eat, and for me it’s about the food more than anything else. Hank’s #1 BBQ has By far The Best pork ribs around. Seasoned well and cooked to “fallin off the bone” perfection. Hank’s BBQ Sauce compliments everything they serve, and the sides are just as tasty. We live in Lackey, and it’s well worth the drive to get the best.

Traveling thru, I just had to stop at 11:02 AM. They opened at 11 AM. On a Thursday. 3 tables taken, one person in front for a take out, person on the phone writing take out orders. Pleasant waitress. I was in and out in 15 minutes tho. Excellent presentation as it wasn’t thrown into a pile. Pulled pork and ribs. Paper separator between bread and bbq, nice touch.

If you can’t tell our entire out of town group agreed this was the best BBQ we have ever eaten! 11/10
Brisket, turkey, bbq, lemonade, baked beans. Service was welcoming and food came out quick!

We decided to drive out of town and try a new BBQ place on the 4th of July. So we picked Hank’s because of the reviews and the atmosphere in the pictures online. Their meats are all smoked out back in their smokers, and since it was the 4th, we had plenty of parking since everyone seemed to do pickup orders. All the staff was very nice and we were told to pick our own table. My wife and I had pretty much already decided on brisket and ribs when we walked in because, in our humble opinion, that’s always the best way to find out how good a BBQ restaurant really is. Unfortunately for us, they were sold out of ribs but had some on the smoker. We ended up going with brisket and smoked turkey. Both choices were chopped and shredded, and we ordered potato salad and baked beans. They offered two sauces hot and mild, and they were both thin sauces. All in all, we had a good experience, and if we were traveling through one I would definitely stop by and try out the ribs.

Brisquet and ribs are delicious. The best I have had in this area. The potato salad is also very good. I don’t, however, recommend the coleslaw.
Great atmosphere and very nice staff.
I make an effort to stop in to Hank’s whenever I am in Columbus, which isn’t often.

Amazing food & the prices are reasonable.
Very interesting place with memorabilia decor & their customers can sign the walls. This is not a large place. Hank sells is own special BBQ sauce that you can purchase to take home. Was surprised they didn’t do BBQ chicken? Friendly waitress.
Wasn’t a fan of the Cole slaw.

Today me and my son decided to get barbecue for supper so we stopped in and got the family deal and a pound of brisket spent $52 me I couldn’t eat. It had too much seasoning on it if I would’ve ate it, I’d been an emergency room all night, long due to having throat problems. My husband couldn’t even eat it. The only one that ate. It was our son and the dog, but it did look and it smelled really good. I just wished they would’ve told the seasons down a lot or not as seasons at all may try in the future again, but I doubt it But if you like a lot of seasonings and stuff like that, then it’s a good place for you to go.

Pretty good food. Not the best I have had, but certainly not the worst. Pulled pork was pretty tasty, sauces were not super amazing but good. Good place to eat near Columbus AFB
Returned to Hanks on a recent visit to Columbus. Very disappointed! The brisket was chopped and its consistency was like it had been floating in water all day. The baked potato salad was good and so were the beans. The brisket was a let down. When our food came out I asked the lady if what I got was indeed brisket, she said “yes” and walked away. I thought I had been brought pulled pork. Sauces weee ok, helped my chopped brisket go down.
For reference the brisket plate was 17 dollars.

Hanks was suggested by a few people local to the area. For me, it was an ok place to eat. I do not like wet brisket (although it was well cooked), and the pork was dry and not evenly seasoned. The smokey flavor was there and was on point though! The sweet tea tasted burnt. Other than those personal issues, the staff was alright, and the place appeared clean. If you prefer east coast style sauces then you will enjoy the sauces here, I appreciate them but did not heavily use them. The baked beans were really good and had great consistency.
I would recommend this place to people in the area and go here with friends, family and co-workers.
