The servers are efficient, very attentive and friendly. Today we had James (GrayBeard) and he did a fantastic job of taking care of us. He was friendly, quick to check if we had any needs and our glasses never went empty. The original owner of Stingaree even stopped by our table to visit. I bring all of my friends and family to Stingaree when they visit our home here. The current and longtime owner is also very friendly and often stops by tables to chat or answer questions . Every staff member pitches in, even if they are not assigned to a table, they still pop by and ask if all is good or anything needed. Don’t forget to stop by the excellent selection of merch on the way out. It is always on hand and updated frequently. Lastly, if you plan to go for dinner, go before sunset so you can go out on the deck and catch the best sunset view on Crystal Beach.
For entrees we got one honey jalapeño shrimp, one seafood stuffed shrimp, one side of fries and one side of green beans.
I didnt take any pictures but everything was so freaking good. Like, everything. Im already think about how I can copy their green beans and seafood stuffed shrimp at home.
Our server was Brenda and she was just as good/nice/attentive as Karrie.
Don’t pass this place up. I was a little nervous after reading the poor reviews on staff and wait time. I guess we were lucky and didnt experience any of this.
We came at 5p on a Saturday and there was no wait.
Our waitress, Karrie, was simply amazing. She gave wonderful recommendations (what ever you do, please put the Tony C seasoning on your coleslaw) and was very attentive.
We had the pound of boiled shrimp appetizer, the seasoning was delicious. We had the stingaree mangonada margarita and the bolivar breeze. The margarita was huge and delicious. The bolivar breeze was good but so small.
For our entrées we had the Bolivar boiler and the grilled seafood plater and both blew our expectations out of the water. Everything on the grilled seafood platter was so good, but the shrimps (bbq, regular and stuffed) and catfish stole the show. The boiler was seasoned perfectly. Honestly we could have shared one of the entrées, it was a lot of food.
One of the best thing about our visit was Uncle George. He came to check on us half way through our meal, I saw him checking on other guests and bussing tables. When I asked Karrie who he was she said he was one of the original owners and now a manager. Its been a long time since I’ve seen a manager walking to check on guests and bus tables.
We are planning on coming back tomorrow night.
We had calamari that was perfect. Small sizes only available and that ensured nothing was chewy. Perfect crunch and taste served with the best marinara, however we chose cocktail sauce for them and that tasted even better! Did a combo plater with fried catfish and grilled shrimp with fries and grilled veggies. Veggies cooked perfectly, grilled shrimp was fantastic (comes with 4 HUGE shrimp), catfish batter was delicious and fries had a wonderful crunch! Must try the key lime pie with Oreo crust! We will see you guys again!!
The food is pretty good. The drinks are great. The service is usually pretty good.
The only “complaint” I have is we are clear that we don’t want salt on the mugarita rim. Usually it’s not an issue but sometimes it has been. Of course the drinks go back to the bar but the bartender will just pour the salted Rita into another glass. That’s not ok to me. You have to watch that. If you dint mind it then it’s not a big deal but for someone who doesn’t like the overpowering salt taste, you need to watch. They will fix it so that’s ok.
We’ve been going for years. It is worth it. The upstairs and downstairs hace different menus. Both have delicious drinks!
Server Hailey P. was fantastic. Very attentive, provided excellent customer service.
Only downside: The almost world-famous Stingarita. It was tiny, almost insultingly so, and very pricy. Skip the margarita. Additionally, you pay a higher amount if you pay with credit card (about 3% more) so bring cash and save a little money.
Everything else was wonderful. A great experience. Will definitely visit again for the food and service.
