I pulled up right in front and parked right on the curb. The perfect parallel park after not doing one for years. I went in only to find out that it was going to be an hour and 15 minutes to get a table. I didn’t think ahead to call for a reservation and didn’t know that it was just that in demand.
After seeing the pictures of the scallops, and the fact that I had done the perfect parallel park, I decided that I would be patient and wait for a table and spend a little time walking around.
True to their word, they got me in just before 8 o’clock, just ahead of my expectation. I couldn’t believe how busy it was in there. Every seat at every table was taken, and even every chair at the bar was full.
I got some oysters for an appetizer. I think that they were called Carolina Gold. They were sweet and delicious. After seeing the picture of the scallops, I decided that that would be my entrée. The server recommended getting them blackened which I did. I wasn’t disappointed, the flavor was absolutely excellent. They were cooked to perfection. Just the tiniest bit translucent on the inside. They were incredibly sweet and the seasoning was awesome on them.
I got the roasted potatoes and fried green tomatoes as my sides. The potatoes were delicious and the coating on the tomatoes was cooked perfectly, it stayed crunchy and hung on tight to the tomatoes.
I had a piece of lemon blueberry cheesecake for dessert and it was just as good as everything else that I ate.
It’s easy to see that this place is a special spot in the community. There is lots of people in there, sharing birthdays and anniversaries.
I’m glad I waited and gave it a try. It really was excellent and I would absolutely do it again. I’m very excited to bring my wife back.
