Drunken noodle So flavorful and spicy—just the way I like it! The noodles had the perfect texture, and the sauce was rich with garlic, chili, and basil. You can really taste the fresh ingredients. I would definitely order this again

On our way home from a road trip, we stopped by for a late dinner. ️
The food was flavorful. We had Tom Yum soup, fresh spring rolls, Drunken Noodles & Prik Paow. It wasn’t spicy ️ as we imagined. Next time we’ll try the Thai Spicy We enjoyed our meal!

I didn’t expect to find worthy Thai food in Mt. Airy, NC. We came up for a couples weekend and went to the Andy Griffith Museum, and the Siamese twin museum, and then checked into the hotel. I was looking for food opportunities in the area, and Thai is always one of my go to choices. I was pleased to see a well rated restaurant nearby. I talked to my boyfriend into going for Thai food, which is totally out of his wheelhouse. We got in the car and headed over. It was about a five minute drive and we pulled into a non-auspicious looking shopping center and wedged in between other shops was the Thai Café. My boyfriend is looking at it from the parking lot and saying “are you sure you want to eat here” and “I said well I’d like to give it a try”. It wasn’t too busy and immediately we were seated. The hostess and server were both quite friendly and helpful and didn’t hover too much. I had looked at the menu online in advance and had kind of picked out what I thought I would like my boyfriend chose something completely different. We started off with an appetizer number four I think on the menu which was a shrimp eggroll. It was lovely. The presentation was unexpected. It was very tasty and well done. Our entrées were the number 42 and the number 20. My curry with chicken was one of the best I’ve ever had. The cream of the sauce was just so delightful. The chicken was well cooked. The temperature was perfect for me. You are given the option between one and five chilies for heat and I chose number two. It was perfect. I did not feel hurried and the restaurant was actually quite charming on the inside, not expected at all after walking u. I would recommend this place to anybody who likes Thai food and if you’re anywhere close in this part of the state, it’s worth a drive over.

TERRIBLE experience and service!!! Walked into the restaurant to place an order because the phone line was “busy.” I told the girl about the phone being busy which is why I walked in to place an order, she paid no attention. I told her what I wanted to order, she was reading the order back to me and said an item that I did not order. I asked her what that was, she just kept repeating it. I said I did not order that, she then immediately looked at the other waitress and rolled her eyes. I grabbed my purse and walked out. I will not support an establishment who treats their customers like that.

Whenever we’re in Mt. Airy, this is our go to spot to stop and eat. The food is wonderful, the portions are generous and the wait staff always makes us feel welcome. The atmosphere in the Thai Cafe is also top-notch! It’s calm, inviting and fun (plenty to look at). Highly recommend.

Ordered shrimp fried rice take out, $15. Shrimp overcooked (5) total shrimp, carrots and peas, yellow rice?, thought it should be a brownish color, in a to go styrofoam container. I didn’t get any utensils, napkins, dry noodles, soy sauce or fortune cookie. Service was fine, not stellar or they could have checked the bag and noticed the shortage of items. Atmosphere was basic Asian restaurant. They had a fair score but my experience was poor.

I have been a loyal customer of Thai Cafe in Mount Airy for several years, and my recent visit reaffirmed why this place holds a special place in my heart. Today, I had the pleasure of indulging in their mouthwatering Grilled Delight, and it was an absolute delight indeed! I also had the appetizer shrimp rolls which I highly recommend. My only complaint is that they didn’t seem to have enough servers for the amount of people that were there today for lunch but I could tell that the servers were trying the best they could. Over all I still had a great experience.

Yellow Curry with tofu & Pho
The Curry was surprisingly sweet with notes of cinnamon and slight hints of spice thats not overly spicy, more so warm and pleasant. It’s always been a go to but the Pho was a nice change up. With the side variety of Basil, bean sprouts, *lime, and a spicy sauce, you can customize this dish to your own liking.
*the lime was kinda over powering in the Pho so add in small amounts.

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect after reading mixed reviews, and arriving an hour before closing with not one single customer in the restaurant, but I have to say the food was delicious!!! We learned they do a lot of take-out orders and 4 people came in to pick up theirs while we were there. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and gave great suggestions. We had the sampler appetizer and their sauces are homemade and delicious. We got peanut sauce, soy sauce, and sweet and sour sauce with the appetizer platter. Their spring rolls are phenomenal, and the sweet and sour chicken was the best I’ve ever had!! My daughter had the sesame chicken with jasmine rice and thought it was delicious! We’ll be leaving the area tomorrow to return home but I wish I could stay longer just to eat here again! Thank you for the delicious meal!!!!
If you need gluten-free food, they do have several items on the menu and you can always ask them for other gluten free options if they aren’t marked.

Service was quick and pleasant. We had drunken noodles with chicken and selected the hot spice level. I like spicy food and it was indeed spicy and served hot with a very plentiful portion. A very good meal.
