This place is a true gem, frozen in time. Excellent service, great cocktails, and delicious food. Everything feels very intentional. Top notch selection of beers, ciders, wines, and spirits. All of the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled delicious. I was blown away by the NY Strip steak and French onion soup. Very reasonable prices on food and drink. Will be back many more times!

Four of us stopped in after a recommendation from a friend. Growing up down the street on Outer Drive for many years. I have driven by but never stopped. Learning it’s been there since 1948. It is or is almost the oldest bar in Dearborn I read ?
Walking in the interior is cool. Dark woods. Brick and stained glass. Cool long bar with back lights and wall hugging booths. For a Friday at 7:30. Almost every seat in the house was filled. I read online pizza is the item to get here. So I was excited.
We were promptly seated in a front dining area with a couple booths and a large family table.
Our server was cool. I was able to crack some jokes and we had a good time.
Onto ordering. Our group ordered one white pizza, one large pepperoni pizza extra sauce. The clam dinner and the shrimp alfedo.
The holiday cocktail was also ordered. It has a special name with peppermint.
So. Onto the food
The shrimp Alfredo was a big hit. It was gone before I could even notice she ate it. Same with the clam dinner with steak fries and salad. The white pizza had a really nice bubbly crust and a lot of cheese and garlic. It looked very good.
Seeing the white pizza. I could not wait for my large pepperoni pizza extra sauce to hit the table.
It did. Immediately I noticed the crust was not as risen and didn’t have those awesome baked in crusty air pockets. The pizza crust on mine was flat and lifeless. Cheese is plentiful on the pizzas. But flavor was an issue. I really didn’t notice any. Both people who ” borrowed ” a piece both had the same expression. Where is the zip, the tomato sauce taste. It was there. They added extra. It just didnt have flavor. The pepperoni were visually there. But could not have and it wouldn’t have an effect either way.
So four stars for the pizza being less then mediocre and the price of the small holiday drink which was $14 . Other then that. I would return to try other things on the menu. But would skip the pizza I think.

Have gone here twice in the last two months. Got the pizza, tasted fine, but was sick after. My friend ordered a hamburger medium rare, it was cooked more then well done, the appetizers taste like they were frozen and warmed up. The dip had a strong ammonia smell to it, couldn’t touch it. The cod does not even taste like cod, not sure what it was. Thought they would be better.

You may feel as though you’ve stepped back a little in time when you enter. The stained glass light fixtures, leather booths and dim lighting give off and old-school feel. Cozy up in a booth, or join some of the locals at the bar. So remind me of Kress Lounge in Detroit. Had Fish Sandwich, French Onion Soup outrageous delicious, half pound Cheeseburger spot on and NY style White Pizza OMG loaded with flavor just spices and fresh Garlic a must try. Had 98 Problems IPA yeah a super selection of Beer’s. Shout out to Denise our superstar waitress she a very great person. Our very first visit going back for Tuesday half price Pizza and Wednesday night Prime Rib. See great reviews around the Web on Facebook, Yelp, Google and TripAdvisor. Also a website with full menus. Pizza and salad ordered. Pizza lacked sauce and skimped on all toppings with the exception for cheese. If you want a cheese pizza, this is the place. Our first call was put down on the counter and hung up without anyone asking if we were being helped. Second call was abrupt and used the excuse that “we are busy” before taking our order. No apology for the hang up, just an excuse for rudeness. This was a pick-up carry out.

We finally came here to try the Elmhurst after passing by several times. We are both delighted! An old-fashioned supper club atmosphere, extremely competent and friendly service, and delicious food. This will be a regular stop from now on.

The interior is cool. Nice dark bar type atmosphere. But the food was mediocre and really the worst part was the service. Our waitress was at best unpleasant. At worst, rude. Some of the worst service I’ve had ever.
I guess she don’t work for tips. That’s on her . And now a couple days after I ate there I learned a few things. My friend got sick twice off their pizza. And since I didn’t tip the waitress due to the poor service, they took the liberty of adding tip themselves. In the process of disputing that currently at 11 at night. Thanks a lot. Probably won’t make a difference but avoid this place. Go to falls sports lounge not too far from here

She’s outside on her phone/smoking whatever as we left. Not a single word…no ‘thank you’, no ‘have a good night’….nothing.
Food was mediocre at best. Buffalo chicken spring rolls. My kid likened them to some frozen chicken wings he had from Meijer.

One of the BEST. Always a go-to for us. Been going for 20+years and is still a place that is small, low lit atmosphere with incredible food. My favorites are the French onion soup, king crab legs on Thursdays and prime rib on Saturdays. … but no matter what you get it’s all good….ohhhh and the PERCH, the BEST.

An absolute five. Great food, great service fast prompt and not interrupting too much, and the atmosphere is out of an Old Town neighborhood bar. It’s definitely a favorite of many regulars. Reservations are not needed, nor are they taken. Try the pizza it is great. Good prices all around, a good place to go. Tuesdays is half-price pizza night for dine in with a two drink minimum. Excellent bargain! You need something to wash down that pizza.
