Swenson’s is a treasure. I try to visit most every time I visit Ohio.
Because we were traveling, we didn’t have much choice – we visited on a snowy, cold, blustery day. But the servers didn’t miss a beat. They were as quick and friendly as always; the staff at Swenson’s is amazing.
The food is just really solid fast food. The Galley Boy is fantastic, and all the fried sides are insanely crunchy and delicious. Especially the potato teasers, oh man.
Definitely one of my favorite fast food joints, and one I will stop at every chance I can.

Preordered on their app. Arrived fifteen min later at their pickup time. Waited for 25 min before getting the food. I’d asked for a refund and to cancel the order and they told me that if you order from their app then corporate has to give a refund. Never preorder from here again. If I’d wanted to wait forty total minutes for food I’d have went to a restaurant and sat. The food was good when I finally got it.

My wife and I were so disappointed with the quality of our food. Let me start off by saying the service was great. The food quality was poor definitely below average. I have been going to swensons before there were locations in Cleveland. My wife is from Akron and when we started dating we would Make it a point to go to Swenson’s whenever we were in Akron. The swensons in University heights on cedar road was very disappointing with food quality. I want to make sure to be clear I didn’t go close to closing there were 2 hours before they close. When I got my food home the chicken sandwich looked like someone had squished it up the bun was flat and the condiments were slathered on with no care and the taste was terrible chicken was overcooked and the tater tots were terrible, I had a question how can you mess up a tater tot. We were so disappointed with the quality of the food that we paid $25 for and didn’t enjoy any part of the meal. We ordered two chicken sandwiches and two tater tots and one chili. The chili was so sweet it felt like they put half a bag of sugar in it, I normally never leave a review but this left me so disappointed I had to and hope that it would leave to better quality and care and preparing their food, otherwise the Swenson’s brand won’t last much longer. Overall I give my $25 meal a 2 and that’s being generous.

First time ever here getting food for the family wanted to try something different.. when arriving a nice young man came out before i can even notice him with a very friendly and positive attitude. The variety of food this place has is amazing. The food came out fairly quick, in which I could say the food was great (maybe could have cooked the meat a little longer) I am a huge fan of the onion rings those were the best ever!! Although the food was delicious what really made this a great experience was the server by the name of Jermaine!! He absolutely is the best and he will be the reason why I always come back. He was so nice, so polite, and so helpful!!!

The burger was cold by the time they brought it out. They forgot napkins, sauce and utensils for the shrimp dinners we ordered.
And I am skeptical about handing the food back, and thinking those that got the order wrong will correct it without malice.
I suggest not eating around the area, especially at night time. It seems par for the course in this area of University Heights on Cedar Road.

This place really has some good service and speedy. Seeing I was just picking up someone else food so I can’t say anything about the food but I can see the speedy service in freezing temperatures was mind blowing. The young lady was smiling still when she delivered the food to my car.

Very poor experience. Online order took 20 minutes longer than the stated pick up time. Food was randomly missing ingredients, no straws for drinks (this is on us to check, but is it so unfair to expect this to be correct?), and the dipping sauces were hot like the whole thing was sitting under a warmer for the 20 minutes we were waiting. We usually really love the food here and all the collabs the company as a whole does, but this makes us not want to return.

Galley Boy burgers are my favorite. Good onion rings and real milkshakes. Pineapple ginger smoothie was tasty and different from the norm.
