Visited Bar B Que today for dinner. The place is well-designed and they’ve thoughtfully added a stair-chair escalator for senior citizens, which is genuinely helpful.

Now the downside — even on a weekday, we had to wait around 45 minutes to get a table. So be prepared for that.

Once seated, the food definitely made up for it.
We ordered:

Ginger Garlic Chicken – perfectly cooked and flavourful.

Chilly Honey Lotus Stem – a bit too sweet because of the sauce, but still very crispy and enjoyable.

Pan-Fried Chilli Fish – fresh and tasty.

Assorted Dimsum Platter – good taste, but only 5 pieces, which felt a little less.

Long Island Iced Tea – strong and well-made.

Tutti Frutti dessert – very tasty and a nice finish to the meal.

Overall, a solid dining experience with great food and good facilities, but the waiting time can really test your patience.

We visited this place to try their Asian cuisine and were impressed by the wide variety of food and drinks available on the menu, including a good range of non-veg options. The starters were definitely the highlight of our visit—well-cooked, flavorful, and enjoyable. The main course, however, didn’t quite match up to the starters and felt a bit mild and average in taste. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the service was prompt and efficient, making the overall experience pleasant despite the main course being underwhelming.

Been here a couple of times. The food is always good. Most recently tried the chilli pork which was pretty good. We also got the pan fried pepper fish which I definitely recommend. We also got the chicken sui mui which was not very good. In mains I got the burnt garlic chicken fried rice which was very flavorful and tasty, the devil’s chicken which ordered with it was not that good. It was a bit saucy which overpowered all flavors as that coated the tongue with every bite. We also got butter paneer, daal makhni and garlic naan which were pretty good. Given it was next to Christmas the service was not that good. We often got ignored and for sometime since we sat, we didn’t have any server assigned. After placing order food was guick to arrive.

Bar B Q on Park Street still feels like a classic spot that has held its ground for years. The moment you step in, you can sense why people keep coming back. It is crowded, it is loud, and the tables are packed close, but that actually adds to the old-school Park Street energy. If someone walks in expecting a calm dining experience, they will be disappointed, but if they want the real Park Street vibe, this is it.
The staff keeps things moving with surprising speed given the rush. You do not feel ignored, you do not wait endlessly, and the orders land on the table faster than expected. They know their crowd and they handle it efficiently.
I went for Chelo Kebab and a pint of beer. The kebab was flavorful without being over-spiced, the butter rice and egg balanced it well, and the beer did its job. Nothing over the top, nothing to complain about. Just solid, tasty food. Total bill for two was roughly 1800, which feels fair for the location and what you get.
If someone wants a place with history, good food, and an energetic atmosphere, Bar B Q still earns its slot on Park Street. If noise and crowd are deal-breakers, this will not work. But if you want that unmistakable old Kolkata dining vibe, you will walk out satisfied.

Okay I am not here to judge one of the oldest eatery in heart of Kolkata. I and my surroundings totally loved their food, cherish their ambience but not indulging behavior of them, some of the point they are rude or maybe taking so much pressure. Anyway we will go again for their food, loved their portion size and quality always..

I had a terrible experience at BAR-B-Q Restaurant on Park Street. The food was subpar, and the service was extremely slow. We waited over an hour for our dishes, and when they arrived, they were cold and tasteless. The ambiance was also disappointing, feeling chaotic and noisy.

The staff seemed unprofessional and inattentive, adding to the overall poor experience. Given the high prices, I expected much better quality. Unfortunately, my visit was a letdown, and I wouldn’t recommend it .

i won’t say was upto the mark. It was definitely good, but didn’t lived up to the name. Chilli Pork was okayish. BBQ special noodles was good, so was mixed rice. The chicken was okayish as well. Service was prompt tho. Also we were not allowed to sit above even after waiting for one hour because we were three friends was ridiculous.

Good location, ambience and hype with average Chinese food. Disappointing given the reputation and very long wait for seating.
Either the Indian cuisine is the true attraction or the Chinese chef had changed.

If I compare with Mainland China or FOO the food is average. At best I will say it is passable Indian Chinese.

If you want to enjoy excellent food at the same time you want to experience the legacy of old kolkata restaurants ?? This is the place for you.
Forget about places that only have beautiful ambience but lacks food quality.
The staffs are very curtious and always ready to serve you. Hot plates, sumptuous food, wooden furnitures….it really makes a difference..
My request is for the new generation to make a visit for sure.
