Food is fresh, well cooked, and well seasoned. I got the alegre rice with shrimp and chicken and man it was just warm and wonderful. The waiter was chill and attentive and reccomended a dish for next time. lastly restaurant itself, we came in when it wasnt busy so the dining area was quiet, there was light music and the area itself is nicely decorated and clean.

Maybe it was a bad night. It was fairly busy Friday night. We did call and they should have prepared for our company of about 20 people. Most of our party received prompt service. Our table waited for well over an hour. I had ordered basic chicken fajitas. It had just a few pieces of “pollo” on the dish. Lots of onion and peppers. I mean it’s a dish that all Mexican restaurants should be well prepared for anywhere you go. That dish cost me 32 bucks including the tip. I still tip. The food tasted good. Anyway. Come on guys tighten it up over there. I know you can do a little better. Thanks.

Took my college team for dinner here and they worked with our tight budget wonderfully. It’s Cinco de Mayo today. So, I had to find a Mexican Restaurant since I’m not in Lynchburg today to go to my favorite. Muchacho Alegre is colorfully & nicely decorated. It is very clean here. The people here are kind, friendly & attentive. The food is delicious! I made the right choice. I’m in Lexington twice a week for now, so I’ll be back!

This is one. I go to these places for the food, not for the decor, or how it looks from the outside.
I found the best food and the nicest people in places that were not so polished.
As always, I ask for stuff that’s not on the menu , if you can mix this and that, and put this sauce, instead of that sauce. No problem.
Came out amazing. Really amazing.
It was chicken breast with all the vegetables,
Zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms grilled. Very grilled..
With Chipotle sauce on top.
Dam that was good.

This small family run Mexican restaurant is a gem! Every dish is prepared fresh and that quality shows in every bite! I’ve been here several times and each has been excellent. This time I was inspired to write a review because of the chunky guacamole (my wife’s favorite) and the Mocajete (my first time trying this amazing dish). The service is excellent and attentive; we would not have known the kitchen would prepare the guacamole “diced” rather than smooth if it weren’t for our server who informed us of this option. When you visit this authentic taste of Mexico (and you must when in Lexington) I highly recommend trying something new. You will be blown away!

I travel A LOT and always love trying new Mexican restaurants. I had the Nacho Supreme and while most places only give you a choice between Chicken or Beef at Muchachos they give you both! Had a Pacifico beer that was the choice of my server Gloria. EXCELLENT choice!

$50 Gift Card was purchased as Xmas gift for a Lexington family. During the holiday week they enjoyed a meal out only to be told the Gift Card was not valid, although a receipt was included as proof of purchase. Not the merriest of evenings for that local family! This is a cute restaurant and Ive enjoyed a meal there during my travels…..but there seems to be room for improvement in cashier/admin tasks. I dont suggest a Gift Card purchase but I do suggest the ambiance, drinks & eats.
