I’ve been going to Hattie B’s for so many years, but this is my first time at the Broadway location. As someone who is a local in Nashville, I don’t find a lot of reasons to go to the restaurants downtown because of how expensive it is to park everywhere. Really the only reason I’ll go to a restaurant downtown is if I’m already going to be downtown for something else. My boyfriend and I went to Hattie B’s on a weeknight before a show at the Ryman and we were pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to order and get a table very quickly. I remember seeing this location with a line out the door for so long that it was so different seeing it without one! I got my classic order of a fried chicken sandwich (medium) with fries and my boyfriend got his sandwich with baked beans. We also got an extra side of Fried Pickles. The sandwiches were good as they normally are, though a little bit on an oilier side than I’ve had them before. I always love Hattie B’s fries. The Baked Beans were actually a lot better than I was expecting so that was great! The Fried Pickles were not necessarily my thing, but I always love to try something new! This location is definitely very convenient if you already have another reason to be downtown, but I probably wouldn’t go otherwise especially with so many other Hattie B’s locations that are much more convenient to get to.

Hattie B’s is one of those if ones around and you haven’t been for a while places. I wouldn’t stand in line for long just to get Hattie B’s.

We only waited maybe 10 minutes and about fifteen minutes to get the food.

We both went with the Southern Style three piece tender plate or in my case multiple pieces. I got the Pimento Mac & cheese & Baked Beans. She got the Black Eyes Pea Salad & Crinkle Cut Fries.

It’s fast food fried chicken imo but it’s really good. Yes, it’s a chain, but it’s a try it once and if you like it go back again thing. I really like the chicken and got southern style. Crispy and crunchy, it’s just that crazy good flavor so I get it when I can. Like Waffle House you go if you don’t have one in your area and seriously everywhere in America needs a Waffle House especially after midnight when you get kicked out of the bar and know you are going to have hell of a hangover kind of day.
Anyhoo, the Pimento Mac and Cheese is a nice comfort food and it’s a good side. The baked beans tasted like a can of beans they forgot to bake. They were really bland. Not my jam. We both like the crinkle cut fries. That Black Eyed Pea Salad had a helluva lot going on with all the flavors. Was interesting, but not for me.

Always stop at Hattie’s it’s just good.

Had to try the popular Hattie Bs. Shared the sandwich (medium heat) and chicken tender plate (hot heat) with mac n cheese and coleslaw sides. Pimento Mac n cheese was memorable.

Ordered at the counter and food came quickly after we sat down. The hot heat wasn’t quite as hot as expected. Medium was pretty much unnoticeable.

Experience matched our expectations but didn’t blow us away in any way. Would go back for some quick chicken!

We were on Lower Broadway checking out the honky-tonk scene and finally decided to try Hattie B’s because it’s everywhere on videos and people hype it up so much. We went with 6 friends, and the first thing I’ll say is… it was packed.

Ordering wasn’t the problem — the seating was. After we got our food, we waited close to 40 minutes just to find a table. It’s basically a “stand behind someone eating and hope they leave soon” situation, then you have to grab the table before someone else does. That part was honestly the most frustrating.

For food, we tried the “Shut the Cluck Up” spice level and got both the sandwich and the tenders at the same level. The sandwich was good, but since it comes with slaw/salad, it kinda tones the heat down. The tenders were a different story — that’s where we really felt the true spice level.

One positive: the staff was really good. Even with how busy it was, they were patient and helpful.

Overall, I’m glad we tried it once, but the crowd and lack of seating made it more tiring than expected. If you’re coming, go earlier/off-peak or just be ready to wait.

I first tasted Hattie B’s at the Nashville Airport and fell in love with it ever since. We were so excited to back in Nashville and taste this chicken again. As usual, tender, spicy and crispy chicken that no other location can beat! The coleslaw here is the best and my favorite!

Girl who served us was miserable as sin but otherwise we had a great meal! Shut The Cluck Up is fun to try but you’d have to be a serious spice lover to eat a whole tender! Portions are massive! Great chicken, great sides… especiallythe cheddar grits!

Not sure how to judge atmosphere but the place was packed. Was my last night in town and go hungry and was actually looking for some chicken wings when I stumbled upon this place. Hey, any place that sells high life that big is a place that I love and I wish I had found this place sooner. I ordered the half chicken medium all dark with side of greens and grits. Man, them grits was on point. I was skeptical because I had to get the grits back to my hotel but man they was good. The greens and chicken was great also but I did like the grits. Next time I’m in Nashville, I’ll def go back again. The brother that greeted me as I walked in dig a great job also and the service was great.

I traveled in from Jersey and found this place via Google maps. I was hungry and knew nothing about it. The service was great – friendly and courteous. The place was clean, the food was hot and fresh and to top it all off for me, the music was really good and not too loud. Nice spot. My belly is full now and I’m very satisfied. Someone even came by my table and asked if everything was good with me. I appreciated that. Overall nice experience.

Hattie’s, for me, was the best hot chicken I had in Nashville. I tried others (many people think it’s too cool to like Hattie’s, so they recommend Prince’s) but they didn’t stack up.

The service at the counter was friendly and helpful, the staff continually came around to collect garbage and ask how things were tasting.

The food was top notch. The three of us got varying spice levels and there is a noticeable difference between medium and hot. I would err on the lower side of the scale unless you’re feeling mildly adventurous. The sides we got were all great. Those included the pimento mac and cheese and potato salad.

Don’t take my word for it, try Hattie’s alongside Princes (located above Hattie’s in the Assembly Food Hall) and decide for yourself, but for me it was no contest.

Tried to go on Friday afternoon, but the line was hella long. I went back after the Seahawks game and it was much shorter. Even though it was shorter, the wait was a tad long. This place is popular!
I ordered a fried chicken sandwich, medium heat, with a side of pimento mac & cheese and a Jack Daniels & Coke icee. I paid and they gave me a number tag.
There was a bit of a wait for the food, but when it came and I ate it, it was worth that wait. I would say that medium heat might be classified as high heat at some establishments. It had quite the kick, but it was delicious. I really enjoyed the sandwich. Every single bite had juicy chicken and I liked the pickles or cole slaw that was inside. I got a side of ranch to drizzle over each bite and that was fantastic. I think I might have liked the mac & cheese more than the sandwich. It was perfect and so flavorful.
