We recently dined at Kashi Japanese in Stamford with a party of 12 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
We made reservations in advance, but the restaurant assigned only one server to our very large table. While our server genuinely tried his best and was polite throughout the evening, he was clearly overwhelmed and was also handling multiple other large tables at the same time.
Drinks took an extremely long time to arrive — some didn’t come until after dinner was already served. Even more frustrating, our entrees came out before the appetizers. Several food orders were incorrect or incomplete, and it was nearly impossible to get anyone’s attention to fix mistakes or order additional drinks.
The overall service felt very disorganized. The floors and tables were noticeably dirty, and there was no accommodation or space provided for our personal belongings, which made an already chaotic experience even more uncomfortable.
It was clear that the server was not the issue — management’s staffing decisions were. A large party with reservations should be properly supported to ensure a smooth experience.
Unfortunately, this was an overall awful dining experience, and we left very disappointed.

Ordered filet mignon lunch , legit whole plate was just vegetables! No meat at all , when I spoke to the manager if I can get more meat and not just 5 small pieces, he states he can’t just put “ more steak on my plate “. He was so not customer friendly and did not care at all. Whole entire plate was vegetables , what a rip off honestly.

I ordered take out and it was disgusting. What a scam- they just put rice and a small piece of fish to try to make it appear as a roll. Do not order or go to this restaurant! 2 rolls and rice came to $70!

Probably the best Japanese in town! Great selection of sushi and hot meals, there is something for everyone there! Sit by the bar for a more lively experience or classic dinning on the other side. The patio is great in the summer!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Stamford. Many of the entrees, sushi, appetizers, and desserts are very delicious, and the menu options cannot be found anywhere else. Everything always seems very fresh and tasty. The atmosphere vibes are very cool, and service is always excellent. I highly recommend it!
I went to Kashi for restaurant week a few months ago and ordered the seaweed salad, crispy calamari, and sushi. For just $20, I expected the portion sizes to be small, but they were surprisingly generous! Everything was delicious and definitely worth the price.
I recently had the short ribs, crispy calamari, the Kashi Sashimi, and the Chilean XO Sea Bass. All were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend!
