The food was delicious and fresh, but what really elevated the experience was the service. Our waiter, Terry, was excellent—attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home.
If you’re in the area and looking for a spot that gets both the food and the hospitality right, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!
And it felt like it was a bit out in the boonies.
But the parking lot was full so we took a chance and went in.
And what a good thing that was.
We were greeted by a happy hubbub that was matched by the sweet hostess, who was a bit out of breath, but appeared genuinely happy to have us.
The fish fry was plentiful and delicious. No room for desert, sorry, but that sounded good, too.
To top it off, our waitress helped us to find accommodations which are hard to come by last minute when you’re traveling with a dog.
We will definitely go back if we are in this neck of the woods again.
We’ve been here too many times to count. They have an extensive entertainment schedule with always something going on either inside or the outside stage. From Polka dancing, to a variety of different bands and many events focused on the community, including Halloween trick or treat for the kids.
The staff is very friendly and efficient and the owners are hands on and super friendly and impressive. You can see they have a family environment amongst their team.
Some of my family favorites on the menu include: Italian crusted Haddock, Alfredo, wings, deep fried pickles, French onion soup and definitely get the fresh cut fries!
OUR SERVER WAS NICKY
We had to ask for our salads. The Cole slaw was very tasty, but it was at room temperature, so my first bite was my last. I’ve had food poisoning before and had no desire to repeat it. When we finally got the waitress’ attention, she offered to get me a cold one. She came back 5 minutes later and said that they were now out of it.
The sides were barely warm and the mashed potatoes were the consistency of silly putty, so I didn’t finish either of those. The server never asked how anything was or refilled a drink. We asked for, and had to wait for, our check. The server said she’d be back to cash us out, but never returned. I had to wait to pay at the register as several employees wandered by. One woman finally stopped on her third trip by and asked if I needed something. When she cashed me out she didn’t even bother to ask me how my experience was. I’m not an unreasonable or overly-demanding person. I could understand if the place was busy, but the tables weren’t even half full and it looked as though either the owner or manager was drinking at the bar and laughing it up. Ridiculous!
Edit: I appreciate the response. Having been a successful operator in the industry, I know how difficult it is, especially in the current staffing and labor-force environment. There would have been no need to write this review had even one person inquired as to our satisfaction during our visit.
My four highest-priority standards were not met that day: food safety, food quality, guest service, and waiting to pay. All restaurants have bad days. It sounds like you all are trying. I’ll try again too.
