Waterfront dining, with great ambiance and decent food. Love the beer flight. The servers are attentive and polite. We came here for dinner with a family of four. I expected better from my tuna; it was difficult to eat and didn’t taste fresh which is very concerning. Other reviews stated the same (please fix this issue as unfresh fish can cause stomach problems; my stomach has been problematic since eating it). Whomever manages raw fish there needs to up their game; this should be reliably fresh and taste amazing at a restaurant of this caliber. I would come for drinks and an appetizer instead. Chicken sliders are good. Salads are huge.

Had a great time at the Herringbone. We showed early for our reservations, so we sat at the bar while waiting for our party to assemble. The bartenders were polite, efficient and hilarious. They were even very kind when I mistakenly ordered the wrong drink (my fault, not theirs) and fixed the issue immediately. Moving to our table, our waitress was quick in speed and wit, dealing with our rambunctious, sarcastic group with ease. The food was quick, the appetizers (Edenton Hot Duck Leg, Seared Ahi Tuna) absolutely mouth watering. Seriously, days later we’re still talking about how good they were. The entrees were just as delicious and I had zero complaints aside from my own inability to eat everything! We’re already planning to return. Can’t wait!

We frequently make a day trip down to Edenton and try to pick a new spot to eat each time. We loved the Herringbone! The building was gorgeous inside, and my curious kids asked what the building used to be; an ice house! Very cool history there.

We got the apple fritter bread board for an appetizer, much more like a dessert but delicious nonetheless!

For lunch we got the spicy sausage pizza, I couldn’t get enough of this! So good. 10/10!

Had such a great time at this waterfront spot yesterday! The weather was perfect for eating outside, and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better location.

The pizza was seriously good—like, really memorable. And those fries were dangerous, so crispy and tasty we kept going back for more even when we were getting full.

Service was on point too. The staff were really friendly and took good care of us without hovering around or making us feel like we needed to hurry up and leave.

Everything about this place just works—good food, chill atmosphere, and that view is hard to beat. We’re definitely going back soon!

Right at lunch on Good Friday, but still seated & served quickly. The building & location are beautiful. The outdoor seating areas are nice & have a spectacular view. The waitress, Jamie, was super sweet! She was so busy and still made recommendations, answered my questions, and was fully attentive. The food (flounder po’boy on a bun instead of hoagie & coconut cake to go) was delicious. Definitely recommend & looking forward to returning.

Great food, atmosphere, staff and location. We stopped on our way to the outer banks and had a delicious meal. There was a nice park beside the restaurant that our kids could play at after eating.

My husband and I were in town for one night and chose Herringbone for our dinner. So glad we did, the ambiance was so nice especially for a later in the evening dinner. My husband got a meal with scallops and they were cooked to perfection. Not a lot of people can pull that off. And I got a steak which was super tasty. Appetizer I 10/10 recommend the Sweet potato fingerling poutine it’s so so good. I could eat it everyday. Staff were very friendly along with our waitress. I suggest you stop in and give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Had a nice lunch here! We ordered the grilled chicken, a breadboard, and BBQ shrimp. All were delicious. The historic building is neat and it’s right beside the lighthouse, park and water. Our server was nice and checked on us here and there. We’ll definitely be back!

Without a doubt the best place to eat in Edenton! Service is phenomenal! Bartender Cindy with an S (Sindy) best bartender I’ve had across the state of NC. Liz was full of recommendations for dinner, trust her. Everything was great! Herringbone will be a frequent place that we visit for years to come!

First visit to Edenton NC and absolutely loved this restaurant! Our server was the sweetest! Apparently 3 sisters work here together. ❤️❤️❤️ The chicken & waffles and avocado toast were scrumptious. Very flavorful, but not too rich or heavy, made for the perfect brunch. Window seats with a water view topped it off. Sunday, 11:30, June 1st 2025 was not too busy, but they have tons of seating available in & outside. Bonus: very reasonably priced!
