It’s always a fun experience to come here and have the corned beef once a year. It’s got a lot of flavor and is extremely lean, and is only available from the start of March till St. Patrick’s Day. Totally worth coming, for sure.
The inside of the building is reminiscent of a forest lodge, which you can really find yourself getting lost in the atmosphere if you enjoy the outdoors.
Food came incredibly fast, even with them being at practically full capacity due to St. Patrick’s Day, and all had a wonderful taste to it. Server was fast and helpful in getting us all set.
Fun little tip, they will dye the beer green for a little festive touch!

Great time with the family, food delicious, atmosphere wonderful and welcoming, prices reasonable. They had a cool game area for kids with Pacman, hunt shooting game, and even pinball. Decent IPA selection. Surprising find in the Steger/Crete area. Will come again.

I’ve been coming here for a long, long time. I’ve always loved it but it seems to be changing in recent years. They’ve revamped their menu and it feels less like a cozy, home cooked experience and more like a chain restaurant. It’s popular, no doubt, but it’s losing the charm it once had.

The fried cheese curds were very good. The Northernaire tasted like store bought roast beef and the au jus was peppery, without any beef flavor. The onion rings were filled with grease. The cornbread came mushed up and was sweet. The lake plate wasn’t bad. The waitress I guess took a break after giving us the check as we had to ask to pay.
