Tough to recommend this spot. Maybe I’ve been so spoiled growing up in the South, but objectively, the meats here fall really short. The amount of sauce masks how dry most of the meats are. Hope they can turn things around for others…
Ribs: dry and overly sauced
Hot links: decent but nothing special
Chicken: very dry
Chopped pork: pleasantly surprised, imagine their sandwich version is worth trying
Brisket: not tender, not smoky, overdone with sauce
Collard greens: tough and way too salty, should be slow cooked to be made tender
Onion rings: onions quite skinny
Cornbread: nothing to write home about, could have used some butter
Mac salad: more bland than full of flavor, which some prefer
Peach cobbler: nice of them to throw this in. Good but could not make up for the disappointing meal

We purchased a lot of food for our Christmas dinner. I was supposed to pick it up on Christmas Eve and I got so busy, I actually forgot. At 6 o’clock it hit me that I forgot to pick up my food by five. I called the store. No one answered so I got in my car and drove down here hoping maybe somebody would still be in the store maybe shutting down for the night although they closed at five. When I tell you I pulled up and someone came out to meet me and said I’m so glad you came. I was worried you wouldn’t get your food. One of the staff members waited around and was going to wait until I remembered to get my food. When I tell you, I was humbled and emotional that someone would wait around on their own holiday to make sure my family had food made me feel something I hadn’t felt in a long time. We live in this fast pace, high-tech world, where we forget the humanity of people. We forgot that we belong to a community and that it is our responsibility to care for one another. This stranger cared so much and even put my families meal above his own holiday. I apologize profusely and he wouldn’t hear of it. It was a beautiful human moment that made me realize what the holidays are actually about. We shook hands and I wished him a Merry Christmas. This is a small, family owned, black-owned business and they reflect the integrity, the care and the quality that goes into our food in our culture. I will be loyal for the rest of my life. The meal was impeccable and we still talk about it. We use Jones barbecue for our parties, our holidays, Super Bowl; everything. It’s hard as a small business to make it and stay alive so we need people to support this incredible family own business. They have been around since 1989. You will not be disappointed.

I ordered shredded pork fries and they’re famous 1/3lb ribs on DoorDash, it said on the app order was ready to pick up but when I got their front employee said it’ll be done in a couple of minutes which I was kinda upset but not a problem at all cause they got it done within 5 minutes! Awesome! The food was fantastic and delicious. Meat falling off the bones and the fries were nice and fluffy sauce was pretty good I would go up to a spicier level just to have a better kick to it.

Overall 5 stars! Would come back again and 100% recommend this place.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food, particularly the saucy and tender rib tips! Unfortunately, they were out of brisket, which seems to be a popular dish, so I’ll definitely have to return.

Everything they serve is made in-house, including the delicious sauce, macaroni and cheese, and green collards.

Will was incredibly accommodating and generous, even giving my partner and me extra food to take home!

I was craving bbq , Googled, and found this lil’bbq spot. It seems they have a good history behind it. I was indecisive and inquired some suggestions on a sandwich. The counter person recommended the pork, so I got the special. I forgot the name, but it’s named after a girl. Josephine special, I think ; which is pulled pork piled with coleslaw, and it comes with fries. I took it to go and opened it up at the park, and low and behold, it was piled high with pork. Luckily, it came with 2 slices of bread because I had made 2 opened sandwiches out of it and still had leftover meat for another 2 if I had extra buns!
The price was, I think, $13 + tip came out to 16ish.

I highly recommend this lil’bbq spot! More meat for the buck!

Thank you!

Best barbecue in Seattle! I took my boys there yesterday in the afternoon and was treated like family. The ribs were meaty and amazing, we couldn’t stop raving about the cornbread, and my son wanted to take leftovers of the macaroni back to college with him. This will be our favorite go to from now on.
