This was my favorite sub shop of all times ( when they first opened) The deli meat is sliced a little thinner than usual but it was fresh and the ingredients. The bread is different(Do not like) and there wasn’t enough meat on sub, it was like a salad on sub. I asked for extra condiments so the sub wouldn’t be dry but I guess they did what they wanted. I was given a cookie (nice gesture) but it was hard as a brick and not Edible. I want to say wonderful things about the shop but I think I just need to let it go.

How this place isn’t written up in eater and other food places is beyond me. It’s a classic sub shop with awsome staff, great sandwiches that are super affordable and the owner was there to check me out. It now my favorite place to grab a sandwich in DC

Due to my wife and my debate on which sandwich shop in DC is the best, I’ll say this is one of the best sub shops in that city (My vote’s still with Mangialardo’s on the Hill). Regardless, Mother Rucker’s makes a mean sub. You can create it as you like but I recommend the straight up “motherload.” It’s huge and amazing!
There are a few seats inside but most people get there’s to go. If the owner is there, say hi. She’s really friendly and very proud of the business she’s created (as she should be!).

Sorry for the half eaten sub picture. It was so good that I could not wait. Half way I understood I need to write a review for it. If you are in DC stop by this place. They are very friendly and portions are very generous.

First off this was 1 of my favorite sandwich spots up until today!! I went there mouth watering just for a disappointment! I got home thinking I was going to enjoy a delicious lunch and to my surprise it was literally 1 slice of meat of each meat. I ordered the cold cut which includes every meat && I got 1 thin slice of meat literally!! Not to mention she keeps a dog tied up at the front of the store! I will never go back ever!!

I don’t eat red meat so they need to have more than just plain turkey. They have low sodium turkey, turkey pastrami, chicken, etc. The industry has plenty different types of turkey now

Wow! I got #14 (roast beef, turkey, provolone). It was so good! The bread is soft and delicious. I get a regular but wish I had upgraded to a 12inch. I went after going to the Arboretum but picking up a sandwich before and picnicking there would have been perfect.
I highly recommend this place!
